He was part of a small group of political moderates on Capitol Hill known as ‘The Mod Squad.’ Although most of this group aren’t as widely known as Lieberman they are nonetheless the most powerful senators and representatives in Washington. They hold this power because they are the minds of reason and morals, and they are the swing votes that keep the hard liners at bay.

People like Susan Collins, Evan Bayh, Lincoln Chaffee, Jim Kolbe, Mark Kirk and John McCain keep America from moving too far to the left or right.

If you're happy to see Lieberman gone then you're not nearly as politically savvy as you may think.

we have more than two choices

we can stay on this rediculous course. we can get the heck out tomorrow. or we can redeploy out into the neighborhood in order to let the iraqis start to sort their future out by themselves and be on call should things get overwhelmingly out of control.

thank god for bush senior (i never thought i would type those words), the kuwaitis will still have us, and others. it would be the same old policy of containment, but this time we would be babysitting a civil war that we started from the sidelines.

this elected government will fall, and we do not yet know what will emerge.

we are better off helping from kuwait, containing from kuwait. and the international struggle against terrorism is better of fought with the willing support of the worlds countries we have been so dismissive of lately.

we need leaders who can play well with other world leaders.

France, Russia, and Germany only care about themselves, made evident by the oil-for-food program. So what's the beef?

I don't understand why she doesn't want a tombstone for her dead son, Casey. She says she doesn't want to believe he's dead, so she doesn't put a tombstone. However, she is constantly saying how he IS dead, and how it is all Bush's fault (even though Casey made the choice to go into the Army....), but she says that she doesn't want a reminder he's dead. She continues to bring him up, but she says that she just wants to not believe that he actually died. The DoD has said they woul pay for the headstone in full, but she still won't get one. Why is she so disrespectful to her own son's memory?

In the United States we all grow up hearing that we're a Democracy ..but we are not.. we are a federal republic.. so if we on the whole don't have a handle on our own form of governance, how can have an opinion about something we don't understand ?

No drooling please... I am genuinely curious to see if anyone knows the difference?

Why support a guy who won BOTH elections illegally. The first election was obvious, but too taboo to tackle. Gore won under EVERY single circumstance! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1283246/posts

And the second was stolen just as badly. Kenneth Blackwell was awarded for making it possible. And it goes way deeper than the Rolling Stones article. He was taught by Katherine Harris (responsible for 2000 election fraud).

The U.S. can pride itself on its ethnic diversity and its freedoms to all her citizens but is this the root of most of our problems? Is it possible to have too many freedoms? Should we start turning people back even though this is what makes our country so great and is what our forefathers wanted? Or is it time to change the rules a bit and say enough is enough, time to start caring for the people already here instead of the people who want to come here? People in this country are getting rich off the atrocities commited by terrorists and more people than we can count are being born into poverty and oppression by racists and criminals. What do you think? Is it truly time for us to say to the government enough is enough, I will sacrifice some of my freedoms so you can cleanse this country and rid it of greed and waste? Can we truly trust our elected officials with our livelyhoods?
