My group in poli sci has to present an answer to this in front of the class. I have done research at my school library already but I am looking for web sites or informative films. Also web sites from different points of views. Any suggestions?

contacts me and calls me an idiot. Why do the Dems stoop to such low levels? I asked a very specific question just hoping to get other people's opinions and some went on about unrelated things. Do Dems think that calling people names and impuning people's character is more effective than rationally talking things over? I didn't even indicate whether I'm a Dem or not so this person just assumed- which you know what that makes out of him- heh-heh. I told the person thanks for showing their true colors rather than provoke them even more but I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that that's not the last I'll hear from them.

My Grandmother was married to an air force SMSgt in the 40s. They had two children and were stationed in England. He left her, did not divorce her, and stayed in England while she came back to the states. He died in 1978, and we're assuming his common law wife received all his military benefits even though he was still married to my grandmother. Is my grandmother entitled to any compensation???? now that i have your attention, I have been noticing since being inhere afew things that i'd just like to pass along, and collect comments on. The 'hot women' ALWAYS are of the opinion that guys only want sex> perspective(theirs) while the "normal women" seem to have a much more realistic view of things. Those who defend democrat ideas are more likely to 'call names', engage in character assasination (instead of debating merits of ideas) right or wrong-for this please state pol. affiliation, then yes or no. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the further left a womans politcal leaning, the less clothing she's wearing in her pictures-(thought left was women's libber, female power etc. party) And finally, am I the only Libertarian in here?....8(

From the day I heard he was running for president, I knew it would bring about something bad, and the day I heard he'd managed to steal the election, I was horrified, BUT,
After seeing all the petty juvenile slurs against him on this forum, I almost feel sorry for the guy
Criticize him for his actions, not for his disabilities.

Just curious, who would support voluntary participation in Social Security? In other words, you would have the option to waive all rights to Social Security benefits, and in return, you would not pay a dime in Social Security taxes. Again, this would be completely voluntary. If you want the benefits, you pay the tax, otherwise you keep your money and you get no benefits, no matter what.

Would anyone support such an option? So each citizen would have the freedom to choose.

Please keep it civil people, I'm just trying to get a feel for how people feel on the subject. Let's be adults and keep the useless name calling to a minimum.

On CNN yesterday President Bush stated that Sadda Hussein was a threat to national security because
1. He had sponsered terrorism
2. He had weapons of mass destruction and had used them
3. He had invaded his neighbour
In response
1. The USA has on many occasions sponsered terrorism in other countries but they call it fighting for freedom and democracy.
2. Anyone remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
3. Invaded how many countries?
Is this not the biggest example of double standards?

Well I am bracing to be slapped by some of my Conservative Brethren.

I have smoked marijuana for years
I'm not endorsing it. I'm not proud of it. (Nor am I a proud coffee drinker).

I am a hard worker, a loving and faithful mate, a good friend, I like to think that my ethical standards are well above par, I love people and attempt to be a good citizen.

It is not the Governments business to be pissing away resources on weed.

It is so cinfused when in the US people talka about jews and zionists.
In Yisrael Jews don't considerate jews to many Americans who call themselves Jews, and never been in a Synagogue!
Some others worship gold and money, and some others have genetical characteristics inherent to the jewish etnicity.
In other words, according to some people there are millions of jews around the world!
Therefore they will need Australia to settle down, because Palestine is too little for all of them.
