Military - September 2007

Can anyone help me find someone who will help us? We want to go to San Diego to see my brother graduate from Marine Boot camp, but are having a hard time coming up with money. We need at least $1000 more. Our brother has never seen his 9 month old nephew, and they are talking like he may be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan very soon.
Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please tell me if you know of any programs or people willing to help. Thank you so much!

they're are criminals they should kill them all! I'm not talking about the one that didn't pay his tickect or got too many lobsters I'm talking about the one that raped, killed, ect. our country shouldn't spend our tax money giving them AC or Pizza and all of those benefits that other hard working people lack of.

I'm going to Paradise Island this Tuesday and can't wait to get there. My ? is about the graduation family part of it. I have a big family and have a sister whose 38 with her husband and 3 little boys and an 35 yr old bro with same size fam. They with my parents want to come to the grad but coming from Boston its not a 2 hour drive. Therefore is there enough things for the to do down there and besides the grad ceremony would it be worth it for them to go? They're gun ho but I question if it will be worth it? What do you think?

I want to become an officer in the Marine Corps, but I also want to be a "hands on" leader, and be able to go where my marines go. Is becoming an officer a bad choice? I've heard that lieutenants are most often platoon leaders...does that mean i'll be with my marines in the field? What about Captains?

Why does George Bush think the lives of hundreds of his countrymen were worth bringing democracy to a country thousands of miles away? Why did Blair think the same?
Aren't they supposed to be our leaders, looking after us? Is Iraq more important than their own citizens and servicemen?
My only guess is that they want the oil, and doing deals with a dictatorship is a bit "iffy".

I mean, we're American. We make everything durable!! We use Hummers, Crown Victories, M16, M4, .. everything durable. With all of the Weapon companies in the USA, why can't we use an American pistol instead of an Italian pistol.

The oath that miltary personnel take when they enter the military is a farce because they have promised to defend a president who doesn't follow the constitution and to the constitution itself. Doesn't this put our servicemen and women between a rock and a hard place? Haven't they taken an oath which the Bush administration has made impossible to keep?

1) What happens after finishing Army and Marine boot camp?

2)If I went to MEPS and didn't qualify for the military because of my vision ( I have keratoconus), can I fix my vision by surgical means (corneal transplant) and go back to the same MEPS station or a different one. Do they record my status of disqualification on every MEPS station in America or just the place where I got disqualified?
