Elections - August 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

You know, the amendment Clinton signed in the 1990's that Frank Lautenberg sponsored. Puts a lifetime ban from firearms ownership on anyone convicted of even a misdemeanor incident of family violence. Yell at your spouse or slap them, and you could be banned. For life. Even though the incident didn't involve a firearm.

Doesn't affect me personally, but I see this as creeping gun control designed to sabotage the natural rights of all of us.

Even worse, this law is an ex post facto law, which should be unconstitutional in that regard alone.

Are we going to let this law stand?

My suggestions:

1) I urge the people of New Jersey to vote this anti-patriot Frank Lautenberg out of office.
2) I urge Congress to repeal the Lautenberg amendment
3) I urge Congress to censure Frank Lautenberg for his assault on freedom and slander against gunowners (implying that gunowners are wife-beaters and that such a law is needed).

I am. I like his record. He seems very consistant throughout his entire poltical career. He has not changed his views hardly at all to appeal to voters. I like this guy.

Who else does?

Just a few who don't seem to have any real chance to win any nomination-like Kusinich, Paul, and Gravel.
We have to change this country drastically for the better. We need someone with totally new thoughts, someone who isn't afraid of anyone, and some true honesty!

..."magician" of all times! BUT, what about "Slick" Willie & "Tricky" Dick? Plus, "Jimmy" da Carter & LBJ??? GWB will be always remembered for his patriot act & the "tubeing" of our constitution, but "Jimmy" Da Carter had many searching "Fast Food" garbage cans as the hot ticket to financial survival!!! Paranoid Nixon had nine out of ten Americans listed by the FBI as commie conspiritors & the rest indicted as commies. Slick Willie brought us WALLY WORLD & a nuclear red army with his sharing of top military secrets with China! LBJ brought us the "war on poverty" & it's famous social programs that are bankrupting us more than ever today!!! We've been fortunate as Americans to have had such wonderfully talented "magicians" as presidents during the last 45 years or so! Today, we have a choice between two highly rated "magicians" to keep the "show" in motion! Which one will it be...Rudy "Little Mussolini" Giuliani, or Hillary "Camrade" Clinton???

We are all Americans regardless of race color or creed and most of us speak english which is our langauge and you politicians should make law. As a native american I knew I must learn english to be successful and I am proud to say that I did and am successful and living well.I have never received a dime from the goverment nor do I want to. All immigrants should be made to learn english. These illegals should be made to return to their country and come back legally but learn english. You politicians love to talk but do nothing. We can fly to the moon, invade and defeat our enemies but we cannot protect our borders. It appears to me that you are only interested in getting votes and not what is good for our country.I would like to see the day when all americans call themselves Americans and not African Americans etc.You are all afraid of upsetting the blacks and mexicans its pathetic to say the least forget the past and care about the future for all of us.Forget the slavery b/s its long gone

I did until I saw how it is taken, people have to enter a fair that cost 35$ to get in (usually paid for by one of the candidates) and only about 14 thousand people voted in it. Do you think this is a good indication? Why or why not?

My question wasn't defamatory or anything but got deleted with some kind of warning emailed to me. I was just sharing dinner table talk with him and asking whether he took it as a compliment. Please post your deleted questions here for all to consider. John's got a tough skin - tougher than Yahoo 's - he wants you to ask him to give the tough real human being answers (and we want to read them). This is Australia. We don't need the First Amendment to use the vernacular :)

The only candidate that wants to lower our taxes (actually lower them!) Preserve our sovereignty by getting rid of NAFTA and preventing our New world order to take place. The only candidate to have wanted to do away with our debt happy federal reserve. The only candidate to have an interest in stopping the government from spying on us!
