I was on vacation in a southern state (which shall remain nameless), as I was driving back to my hotel around 1 AM from a wedding rehearsal dinner party, I came across a speed trap. This was a lonely 2-lane road, no streetlights or any lights either, with a very sharp curve (speed limit 25) and only a ditch off the left and empty space on the right (or so I thought). As I drove around the curve at around 20 MPH someone jumps out with a spotlight shines it in my face and then about 5-6 other flashlights pop on waving. I didn't stop and continued to my hotel, where a police officer shows up behind me. After telling him that I was scared and told never to stop in dark areas and that I was NOT speeding, he charged me instead with 'failure to obey a traffic control device' (his flashlight). I didn't know they were the police! Is this legal? The police were not in plain sight; they were hidden in the dark behind an abandoned van, along the curve.

Bush never touhed the Abortion issue while in the white house, so why does it matter?
Bush didn't help Social Security either, but that was a big issue too.

of toll does this take on the individual? Would you liken it to a doctor/ nurse that couldnt save a patient, effect wise? I ask this because im currently considering a law enforcement career (small town?) but I'm worried about the mental strain put on cops, especially in situations involving deadly force... my other choice, career wise, would be medical...but, if i cant handle the thought of a patient dying on me, do i have ANY business in a career where i may have to take anothers life? I'm second guessing myself here... I would like to use law enfocement as a stepping stone to becoming a game warden, ideally, but if that falls through, with an Associates in Park Management/ Law Enfocement, i could pretty much be confined to police work. Sorry for the length of this, im just rather confused.

Any help is greatly appreciated. And, I'm not weak, dont think that...just wondering what strain this would put on personal time/ life.

I believed the fact that oj as a black man was letting go of killing a white woman was the reason why it was such a big case. Had it been a white man who killed nicole orr he being found notguilty would not have been such a big deal. How bout the racist redneck who burned a church in alabama killing 4 black teenage girls. Why wasnt the american public as outraged and angry.

My husband abused me Domestic Violence then closed
up all accounts left me without a dime. Now someone told
me to file directly to VA for Spousal Support he is 100%
disabled, unemployable, perm disabled by VA so he gets
VA & SSDisability making over 3900.00 monthly plus
yearly uniform allowance of $600.00. So I recieve
SSDisability 975.00 a month and now does anyone
think I should bother writing the VA to impose monthly payment. I took care of this man I was sole driver in marriage,
all housework, giving his meds and 2 x a month shots. The VA
taught me how to do that it was painful for me to hurt him. He
said I gave the best/easiest shots but it hurt me to do it.
Anyway any thoughts would be helpful. Oh I was the main
parent to my husband's son. He is now 18 and his birth mom
still thanks me for raising her son she said she could not
have picked a better mom for her birth son. We talk weekly. I was married 12.5 years now separated.Husb. controlled my
life.

ALL deadbeat parents, those fraudulently getting welfare benefits and maybe known gang members but keep anybody that is hard working and pays their own way regardless of their immigration status?
I don't think we ought to have open borders either. Anybody else got a solution besides what's already NOT working???

In other words, I'd like you to describe yourself. By the way, if you met me, you would see a tall, slim 33-year-old woman with short, dark hair, dark eyes, and glasses. I would probably come across as anxious at first, since meeting new people makes me nervous.

Why are liberals so worked up to have a Democrat President??

They voted in a majority last election, and look at how low their approval ratings???

And please refrain from using the name BUSH in your defence... he's a Republican, and is NOT in control of the Senate.

This is about the job performance of YOUR people, YOUR congress.
P.S. Bush has a higher approval rating than you guys... AHHAHHAAHHAAHA sorry.. had to get that out.

I have a question that is sort of complicated. I have asked it several times but have not gotten very good answers. I have always loved the law and have always wanted to be a lawyer. I live in Mississippi and am going to the University of MS (Ole Miss) law school next year.

I went to Millsaps and made A's so I am fairly confident in my ability to do well in law school (not that undergrad is comparable, but I am willing to work). I always hear people say that if you don't go to a "top tier" school and graduate in the "25th percentile" then you are screwed. But when I get out I actually would like to work in a "small" firm in MS with just a few lawyers. I also do not expect that great of a paycheck (55K or somewhere in that area).

I am asking this question because Ole Miss is obviously not a top tier law school, although it is well respected within the state. If I make "good" grades, will I be able to get a decent job with a small firm?
