I see Al Gore has the home page masthead featured question today.

He has a whopping 99 points. He's checked in a couple times and answered nothing. The rest of us need at least 5000 points for that opportunity. How does that make you feel?

I was stopped once by a police officer on a traffic violation, he asked if he can look in the trunk, I didn't think it was illegal to have beer in the TRUNK and he said since I was under 21 (20) I cannot have it, so he made me spill it out on the side of the road. I want to know if next time I have some beer in my trunk if I can get in even more trouble for having it there like get arrested or something?

If the 7 U.S. Marines and 1 U.S. Navy Corpsman are found not guilty in a court martial will those who have already found them guilty here and in the media accept that, or will they just call it a white wash on the part of the Marine Corps? Seems to me as far as much of the public is concerned they are in a no win situation. It's too bad when people fighting for our freedoms aren't accorded the most basic of protections under the constitution....that being the presumption of innocense. I'm glad we no longer have lynch mobs.

There's a girl I work with who knows I am a vegetarian. She kids me about it, which I don't mind, but she took things a step too far last week when she insisted I try the vegetable soup she brought in for our employee luncheon. She swore up and down there was no meat in it, so I ate a bowl, only to later hear her bragging about how she'd used beef marrow bones as flavoring, but had removed them so I wouldn't know.

Pretty crummy, I thought, so I got a little payback in yesterday. Let's just say there was an extra ingredient in the brownies I brought in for lunch- and I've never seen her so mellowed out afterward.

Was this really, really wrong? Or did she have it coming? She would never knowingly touch the stuff.

I just read that bin Laden wants the US to release the body to Jordan, so that he may be buried in his homeland...only catch is, the Jordanian king, Abdullah II, doesn't want him either, because of a triple suicide bombing that claimed the lives of 60 Jordanians, for which Al-Zarqawi is responsible...so i ask you, what should be done with his body???

i think that race/ gender/ ethnicity shouldn't matter when getting into college, or getting a job, but isn't affirmative action bad for america. Because for college admissions a female applicant has the same chances of getting into a college as a male applicant with a score that is 50 points higher on the SATs than hers, isn't that unfair to the male applicants that got 25 points higher than the female applicant, isn''t it also unfair corporations because they may have to choose an unqualified canidate for a job just because they are a minority. I agree with what the affirmative action movement stands for, that everyone has an equal opportunity, but isn't it unfair to some qualified candidates for universities/colleges and for jobs that they may not be accepted or hired because the corporation/ college has to make up their quota.

we need to really examinine the assumptions we’re operating from and those assumptions lead us to places that reinforce domination.

One place to start is by knowing the truth about immigration and the entire right-wing Minuteklan mentality and confronting these bigots wherever they rear thier stupid racist heads.

...and consultants are never cheap.

One doesn't have to try too hard to come up with a fairly cynical take on the way many politicians who advocate for smaller government are tangled up with private corporations whose biggest customer is the federal government. Could it be that politicians are actually advocating for a weird kind of smaller government, one with huge budgets for consultants and contractors?
