I came home to find a yellow sticker of a dog on my mailbox. It was on too neatly for my young son to have put it on himself. Was this something my carrier would have done, or should I be getting after the neighborhood kids? I assume it's to notify the carrier of a dog at the property. While it's true that I have a dog, the mailbox is outside and away from an enclosed fence. More often than not, the dog isn't outside when the mail is being delivered. Is the sticker something that will effect the delivery of my mail? Are we being put on notice for something? I didn't really notice any other stickers on other mailboxes of dog owners on the block . There was no pamphlet or anything explaining the sticker if it was from the USPS. Just curious, if it turns out to be a school kid doing it, do I call the local police or FBI? I'm guessing FBI since mail is a Federal office.

Specifically I'm looking for a website that lists dog breeds (with pictures) that tell you which breeds have which personalities and which are best for my lifestyle.

My mom has a rack russle terrior. She is VERY hyper. Is there anything a vet can give her to calm her down some? She acts like she's on drugs or something, LOL.

Yesterday i was at one of my friend's house and one of his friends who i don't know bought his 7 month old pit bull puppy over. So we're all sitting around chillin and this dude starts slapping the dog in the face and pulling on his ears and using his feet to push the dog across the floor and the dog is clearly irritated and barking and snapping at him. So i said to him "why are you treating your dog that way"? And he said "hey, this is a pitbull, not a Lab, he's supossed to be mean and not a sissy". Needless to say i disagreed and we got into a heated argument over the way a dog should be treated. This dog was in pain when this dude pulled his ears cause he yelped everytime. It made me angry that somebody would treat a puppy that way and if it wasn't for my boy i would took this dude outside and made him yelp! But my boy broke us up and i just left to keep from slugging this jerk in the mouth. Do you think i was wrong? I'm a straight-up dog lover!

I am asking for my brother who has 3 cats and two dogs. The dogs only go outside to do their business, the cats roam. He now has an undying flea problem. He has fumigated the house with an exterminator, has given each animal 3 flea baths, and yet they are still there all over the pets time and time again. Any ideas?
Thanks

...go after one of them and contact the owner on the dog's license?

I tried to run after one of them but it looked at me and just darted away and nearly got hit by a car (one woman tried to track it with her SUV to see if she could catch it and take it to the owner but she couldn't). It also ran to another side street out of my sight. The other two dogs were down the street from me and I couldn't get to them.

How would you deal with this situation? This has happened before to me where I actually caught the dog and called the owner on my cell (it turns out the kids accidentally left the gate open and the dog ran out).

Note to dog owners: SECURE YOUR DOGS! Thank you.

my friend robin, has a bichon frise (i hope thats how u spell it). she doesnt have the money to bring him to the vet to get him checked out. (why have the animals if u cant take care of them?; yea i know i say the same thing). i think he has hot spots. he keeps eating himself and makes himself look like crap. i am at her house everyday and feed her animals, let them out to go potty etc. i read that bichon's do this when their skin is irritated. he had flees but i bought front line and bomb the house for her; no more flees for the past 3 months now. but he still eats himself. her apt is kept at 70-75 degrees all the time. i have started giving him baths every other day using shampoo and conditioner for dogs with very sensitive skin for the past 2 weeks. i was once told a recipe using bleach to get rid of hot spots; but i dont remember it... am i giving him too many baths? does anyone know a homemade recipe or any advice to help the pup???
