recently i asked about my dogs sickness and if they are going to die...
The last 4 days my mongrel started to have quite alot of tears in his eyes and took more sleep than before. and the last 2 days my J spitz started to have the same thing
My mongrel is starting to sleep longer, is very warm, and seems to be very cold....
He is also less active and has lots of flu.
He vomitted once and is coughing.

So can I use panadol (paracetemol) for my dogs ?

I feed my 4 month French Bulldog puppy Natural Balance Duck + Potato. I notice that he scratches his back paws and lower belly area quite often. He has a couple of small red spots on his belly. Could this be a food allergy or fleas? I have cleaned my house thoroughly and recently bath him and checked his coat and found no traces of fleas.

The pet food store recommended Wellness Venison + Rice food. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good allergy food or any other ideas?

Thanks!

I have a 11 month old Black Lab who seems to be constantly itching.
She has no fleas... I tried the dog dandruff shampoo... I changed her food... This spray made with avacados...
I'm pretty much stuck... Any ideas?

Maybe something around the house like baking soda? Or some kind of herb?

He is a Ori-Pei almost 5 months old. At first I thought he was just peeing in his bed in his cage. He had never any accidents before. But then he was snuggled next to me while I was watching TV and he was sleeping and he just started peeing. I picked him up and he woke up and stopped. So he is peeing in his sleep. Is he having wet dreams? Is it something that will stop when I neuter him? Does it have anythign to do with the fact that he is wimpering sometimes in his sleep? Thanks for any help.

my shih tzu has fleas and it's affecting me as well. shampoo and ointments are so temporary and i dont want the maintenance of doing this every month. i was hoping for something more permanent where fleas are "bye bye, i don't need a postcard" type of deal. a flea collar is ideal, unfortunately my puppy mattes because of his fur coat and he also needs his coat for fall and winter. are there any other solutions? like, a flea collar especially for shih tzus? because, i am also being affected by this; i have a coloring book of connect-the-dots all over my legs and my back.

so sad.

are there any flea collars for shihtzus or solutions of getting rid of them forever?

Ok my dauchie mix Maggie had been in "heat" for about two months now! They say she is in heat because of her swollen back end! She has also become very aggressive towards our other dog Bud! People say they souldn't be in heat longer than 2 weeks! Its been 2 months, no joke! Is something wrong with her? I want to get her fixed and they say i can't until she is no longer in heat! Is that true? Also what are the ups and downs of getting her fixed? i want her to calm down, and be nice to our other dog like she was 2 months ago! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Very weird situation here. We feed the dogs regularly but for some reason they like to eat dirt. There is one spot off the back porch that they regulary excavate. And it does not matter whether it is new dirt or old dirt, they keep eating it. Anybody know why?

My roomate recently came into possession of a Scottish Terrier after having taken him in for the night twice as a result of his previous owner's neglect.
This dog's original name was Jaques. (Pronounced "Jock".)
I was asked to come up with a different name for the dog after repeatedly pointing out the odd idea of giving a Scottish dog a French name.
What's more, the only way this man can even remember the dod's name at 75 years of age is because I made a reference to a jock-strap while cracking a bad joke about it. I've been told that my roomate bitterly resents the thoughts that come to mind as a result of this and it has further motivated me to find another name for the animal.
Calling the dog Strap is simply the extent of my creativity so I have decided to request help from the Answers community.
I understand that it helps somewhat if a description of the dogs personality is given so here it is:
The dog is black, oddly quiet and incredibly smart.

I used to give my dogs Pedigree, But it gave them skin problems, I would like to feed my dogs Bil-Jac, not the dry, but its like $40 for 35lbs, I have 4 PitBulls, & 50lbs last less than a week, 50lbs cost $16..

I dont feed them table scraps, because it a bad habbit. Since they are pits, I have spent a lot of time to make sure they are very, very well behaved. and having dogs that beg for food is the worst, along with dogs that jump.

Like i asked in my last post, ONE of them has very bad gas.
What is a low cost fix to this..
Do you think some thing like "beano" Will work??
????????????????????????????????

My dog's skin is turning black and she is losing her hair. She also itches, and often scratches till she bleeds. What is the likely cause? What can we do about it?

Please no snide remarks...only answers from people with experience. My dog, who's now 12, is having daily episodes of walking like he's 'drunk' (swaggering and acting off balance). He's been healthy all his life until a couple of years ago when we went thru convulsive behavior for about a week that vets could not explain. Anyone have a clue? Arthrisitis perhaps or something neurological? He acts like his hips are the culprit but then his front legs get wobbly too at times.

Can we put our dog on the treadmill? We have put him on a strict diet and are trying to take him out on more walks, but some days, I would like to just sit and read a magazine while he's walking on the treadmill. Is this safe?

My two polms breed and the female is around 8 pounds the male 10 or eleven pounds. I know that breeding a bigger male dog is not reccomened but because she is also bigger than the standard will that make a differnce. Yes I plan to take her to the vet but right now it would be great for some info. I do know they are prone to C-Sections.
