I'm thinking of adopting from the local humane society and they have an adorably corgi cross, two months old who was born blind. Would anyone have any special tips on bringing a special needs puppy home?

I adopted a lab/pit bull mix from our local animal shelter. I was so excited to tell everyone because it has been three years since my dog passed away and I finally felt ready to have another one.

EVERYONE that found out she was pit bull mix has been telling me awful stories about this breed. They also tried to convince me that I should not have this dog around my kids.

Seriously though she is a baby. She has showed no signs of aggresion toward me or my children. She seems just happy to have a home. She does need some work on obeidence and walking on a leash but other than that she is a doll.

Can anyone tell me about their expierence with this kind of dog?

Thank you

I feed her according to her food package's instructions. My vet says she is not underweight and is very healthy. But she whines and cries for food constantly. I do not give in to her begging. She gets treats twice a day in her kong toy in addition to meals. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop begging?

If you have experience with those "underground," "radio-signal," "invisible" fences used to keep a dog contained within a yardspace, please comment. What's your experience? Good? Bad? Costs? Worth the costs? What to expect? Best brands? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

This weekend I took Shadow, my 3 1/2 year old German Shepherd to a Kennel resort while we were vacationing. This was the first time I have ever done this, as she usually stays w/ my parents, but they were also out of town.
When I got there, I wanted to view the facilities and the man wouldn't let me! He said that it upsets the other dogs for people to go back there. I also was going to have a friend check on her on Saturday, and the man said that he couldn't let her see my dog. I asked why and he said it confuses the dog and they won't allow it. I was crying the entire way to our vacation destination upset about this.
I got a couple recommendations from this place so I thought it would be okay, but all of this made me very uncomfortable and I just don't know if this is normal for those places or if I should never tak her there again! Besides that he was very rude on the phone.
Any info on this??

There is 1 that is calm, but the other pees everywhere. A lady wants her, and it would be a relief, but I've bonded with her so it's hard to do this but I want to sell her. What should I do?

I own a 9 week old Shih Tzu and have been crate training him. But I seem to have only gotten half of the training right, since he does no. 2 outside, but he pees outside and inside! and when he does it inside it's always a very small amount, not like when he's been holding it for a while. Is he marking his territory? or is he confused?
