I have a male cat and he is about a year old. He is nutured/spade/had his "manhood" removed, and i got him from the animal humane society when he was just a baby. He had a broke leg, which now causes him to be a little less physical since it gives his a gimp. Anyways....he has this super fat sack which hangs really low by his tummy...its like...sagging skin covered in fur. and it waddles side to side when he gallops around. hes a strictly indoor cat, and has a decent diet, but he may be a little over fed, he whines if his bowl is completely empty...i feed him 3 times a day...using a little sized dixie cup to measure out his food...should i get him check out...or does this happen to indoor male cats who have been nutured?

ps...sometimes i like to pet his fat sack...it is soft and gushy..ha

If people sold tame, hand reared finches, would you want to buy one? What species?

Me personally, I would love a small flock of tiny finches following me around. :D

(and no, I'm not considering hand rearing finches, heh)

I just lost mine almost a month ago, he was a beautiful outdoors tabby, greyish blackish. I now regret declawing him, and he doesn't usually stay out this long.

Just taking a quick poll to see if anyone here has lost their cat before and what happened. You can describe what happened, or fill out this form (completely!):

How old was your cat?
Male or Female?
How long till kitty came back?
Was he/she injured?
If Kitty didn't come back, did you ever find out his/her fate?
Was he/she indoors or outdoors cat?

I've already left ads over at a few neighbors' and 2 animal clinics, and searched online petfinding services, no luck.

Best answer goes to most detailed; thank you!

I have 2 indoor cats. One is about 7 years old and the other is about 8 months old (female). The older cat which is a male and is declawed. Is it fair to the older guy if I don't declaw the younger cat? Is it gonna claw out the other cats eyes when they fight/play around? Do you think it will bother the declawed cat? Thanks for any help! I have 2 days to make my decison.

Okay, i asked users here before, and they have told me that i should only crate my puppy when i'm not here or at night. But i'm still wondering if i should do that as online and in books they say to keep the puppy ina crate, and take it out every hour? Well right now he's in the crate as we are going to sleep soon, and he's barking but he eventually falls asleep. Don't worry, we do wake up early to take him out to "go". And we already let him before we put him in. Also, we're going to have training sessions w/ him once a week.

So i just want suggestions, or are we doing things right? He's a pretty behaved dog but gets hyper sometimes and hates the crate. But he's just learning the house rules and we're giving him time.

Whenever I go to the bathroom or take a shower both of my cats run in there with great excitement. They both become very lovey, and rub all over everything. They love to play in the toilet and watch the water when it flushes, and they like to tear up the toilet paper and disperse it all throughout the house. Because of this I try to keep them out of the bathroom, but they sneak in any chance they get. Does anyone else's cat love the bathroom like this??

Well i do, i feel so sorry for it.There owner should really be ashame. If they can't take care of it give or sell it to people (that can take more responsible for it). When i walked to McDonal's yesterday i saw a cute Golden Retriever walking across the street and then a car came by and it died. It's owner was right in the front of it of the other end of the street and that old man didn't even give .So me and my friends came and picked up that dog its eyes were still open .So I brought it back to its owner and he says "I have no use for it."I was like what the. If you son't like it then give it for adotption.".So I took care of it but it can't walk or anything. My friend is going to give it for animal control.tomorrow.I feel like crying i hate when i see a dog pass the street .They always end up passing away.

For all you show dog people out there I got a Q for ya :) I watch Westminister each year, and remember a particular GSD being shown who was said to have been found tied up to a tree by the highway. If that is so, obviously it would have been impossible to find the papers. So I'm guessing there was a way to get the dog papered? I am asking as I have a GSD & have toyed with the idea of entering him as a novice in shows but I didn't know if it could be done, how to go about getting papers on him. Also he is 4 yrs old, is that too old to start out a dog? He has excellent conformation (tho he is on the larger size & not sure he will qualify weight wise, need to have him weighed to make sure). I'm just curious about any options, if any....I might have as I thought it might be fun to enter him in a show. Thanks :)

I know dogs do that when their anal glands are full, but he just had his anal glands emptied two weeks ago. Is this a sign of worms? (He's on heartworm medication already).

I have what we know is a purebred alaskan malamute. We got him from a humane society but they got him from a breeder who was overpopulated.
I know alot of people don't believe in rgistering your dog but my husband & I would really like to.
Please don't think I hate on mixes because I LOVE mixes. My Baby Bear is a mutt and he is my best buddy!!!
I know we cannot AKC register but, but what other registerys can we use that are legit. ( I heard some bad stuff about the CKC)
please don;t leave me any yucky comments about why not to register my dog. I really do have appropriate reasons!
Thanks everyone!

P.S.- this is him, my kodiak!

My parents plan on buying leather couches and want me to get our kitty declawed. I am against this since he likes to go outside and even though I always watch him outside and never let him go far from the house, I feel it would be cruel to get his nails removed even if he doesn't need them. How can I make sure he doesn't claw the couches when they come. Do not answer with spraying him with water, we bathe him weekly and he doesn't mind it anymore.

I have had my chinchilla for 5 years and compared to other pics of chins that I see, mine is sooo small! Is this normal? He eats normal and drinks normal... should I be worried or did I just get the runt? I don't mind because he's so cute, I was just wondering. Also, for the past 3 years my chin hasn't been able to keep fur on his lower back or belly. I'm not sure if he's pulling it out or if it just won't grow back completely. I had heard that some chins can get a type of worm that lives on their skin and to rub athlete's foot powder on them and to put some in their dust bath. Has anyone had this problem before? Why would he not have hair? I keep his cage clean, he has plenty of food and water, an exercise wheel and gets plenty of treats. He is an only chin. Is he stressed, or do you think he has the skin worm, or what could be causing this. When I started to use the foot powder it got a little better but then the hair went away again. What is going on??

is not doing good. He is in the vet now on IV's. He will not keep ANY food down and the vet says that there is nothing wrong with him health wise. So they don't know why this is happening. We gave away our cat Reba awhile ago and she was like his mom and ever since he has been acting strange, but not like this. We really love him and don't want to put him to sleep. Help?

and all the ammonia, nitrate, etc.. are all where they're supposed to be. Do I change the water?, how much? and then do I add my new fish in right away?. What are some fish that I can put in my 5.5 gal that are as colorful as a goldfish? NO neon tetras.

Also can I remove all my zebra danios, and put all my new fish in.

I've had my cat for nearly two years now. She was given to my family through my mothers friend. She's very sweet, and gentle and smart. She's approximetly seven years old, spayed and is an indoor/outdoor cat.
We are considering adopting another cat because a coworker of my mothers is moving out of state. All we know about the cat is that it was in the pound once before. Now if we adopt this cat, the only concern is if Sabrina (my Maine Coon) will get along with the other feline. We had another cat previously that constantly fought with her and she does not like the neighborhood cats.
I understand I should follow a careful introduction procedure. I just need to know if Maine Coons are compatible with other felines? And if anyone has any tips for me that would be great too.
