one's a foxhound/ beagle and the other a german sheppard/doberman. they are both hyperactive and get plenty of long walks and running on the beach, but i just can't seem to wear them out!!

How long does it take for an older dog maybe 1 1/2 or 2 to get used to a new home? When put outside to "play" with the others it just keeps walking back and forth looking into the door. Will it keep doing this or will it eventually enjoy the yard? Am I making it worse when I bring the dog in all the time? Or should I just leave it outside to get used to the yard. Also it was an outside dog before I got it. I just want to keep it outside while I am away.

kinda long, i will make it as short as possible! 6 years ago my cat had kittens. she had 4, i kept two, gave one to family friends and then one to good friends of mine. about 6 months ago my friends had a baby and wanted to give the cat back to me, well my boyfriend took him in. i will be moving in with him in about a week with the mom and brother and sister of the cat. i was wondering if they will remember each other or do cats forget once they are separated. of course the ones that stayed with the mom know she is mom. thanks!

My son has decided he wants to keep fish
Only want tank about 2ft 6"- 3ft to start and wants little sharks or fighting fish ect!

I have 2 Siamese cats who are both 5 years old, 1 is very friendly and socialised, the other, not so (she is quite timid). We bought home a new Bullmastiff pup last week (14 weeks old). All seemed to be getting on ok, the timid one stayed out of the way. Today, for no reason, the friendy kitty jumped onto the pups neck and started clawing him, he yelped and the timid one went crazy, she was riding his back and clawing and screaming the poor pup was so scared that he messed himself. I finally got a cushion and beat the cat around the head and she retreated. The poor pup ran to his cage, i crawled in with him, shut the door and stroked and reassured him. The cats were bleeding from their paws where they had ripped their claws out and my little pup was bleeding a little from his face. I can't stop crying and feel very guilty about the pup as i couldnt stop the cats and now im not sure what to do. How can i try and get them together again, i don't want a repeat performance.

Ok, they are two, 8 week old Siberian Huskies. They DO NOT have their shots yet, but plan on getting them this week. Should I let them stay in the fenced area made for them outside? (Nothing can escape, and the fence is 6.5 feet tall) Because not having shots, are they susceptible to any diseases?

Maybe I should ask this in the trying to conceive section...I just keep hearing ppl say they got rid of their cat etc. I mean I know the risk that can come from cleaning up the litter. But I just think it is disgusting to get rid of the cat after you have been taking care of it!

after injection of baytril and steroid, and having muzzle swell up and now resolved since ER visit, we are supposed to administer Baytril eardrops until return visit tomorrow. Afraid to give drops because of yesterday's reaction but afraid to have him without medication for a day. We live in an area where the local vets are not "on call" on weekends. Any home remedy antibiotic drops that anyone knows of that is safe and effective?

I have 3 cats, but only one of them has problems with frequently throwing up. (The other two throw up the occassional hairball or two, but nothing to be concerned about.) My 3rd cat, Skye, is a bit thinner than the other two and seems like she has trouble keeping any cat food down at least 1 day out of every week. I've taken her to the vet twice, who checked for worms and other problems before pronouncing her perfectly fine. I've tried 4 different kinds of dry cat food and 3 different kinds of canned cat food. I've tried hairball treats (though she is a short hair cat), and they have no effect. (She throws up food, not hair.) Sometimes the only thing she can keep down is a bit of milk. The vet suggested meat flavor baby food for the days when she can't keep the cat food down, but I was wondering if baby food has the right nutrients for a cat. Is there anything I can do to help her keep the cat food down and prevent her throwing up? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Well...my dog barks all day, all night. I've had her for 7 months now and we started hearing complaints off neighbours. We need to do something quick. We tell her "No" when she barks or "quiet" but it doesn't seem to work. We also bought one of those bark control machines from pets at home. It realeases a noise or something to make them stop. But...it doesn't work! She just screams instead...what else can i do!?

My 9 year-old cat is terrible for plucking everything in the house! I've had him for 3 years and he's always done so but it seems to be getting worse - especially at night. He uses a litter tray and for half an hour afterwards he plucks frantically at the surrounding carpets with both front paws, he sits at the windows and plucks at all the curtains, he shreds the wallpaper in my study... How can I break this habit as it's ruining my house?
