Im 17 years old and im not overweight, but throughout my family generations people had diabetes such as my uncle, and my great grandfather, etc. Woyuld i have type 1 or type 2? I know they say people over 45 usually have type 2 but is it possible i can have type 2 as well to?

If I straighten out my knee than it feels better but I haven't had the pain part of it for awhile now. It just feels weird when I have that locking sensation. It usually occurs when I'm up and about. I've also noticed that my knee cap on my left leg (where this is happening) is sitting kind of off to the side, tilting towards the inside of my leg. Is that normal? My right one looks fine and it's lined up with my leg.

Considering that there has never been a reported overdose of marijuana; that numerous medical studies have shown it has a wide range of beneficial attributes with regards to AIDS & cancer patients, delaying the onset of Alzheimers plus others; that it is less addictive than cigarettes or alcohol and has no qualities of physical addiction, isn't it time to just get over it?

It's not a gateway drug...that would be alcohol or cigarettes, which anyone who's ever smoked marijuana will tell you they used long before they ever tried weed.

Any effects it does have are no more severe than alcohol, though alcohol is arguably far more dangerous. It does not have as many carcinogens as cancer and recent studies suggest THC may act as a cancer inhibitor. In fact, the evidence is inconclusive that marijuana smoking alone results in lung cancer or head and neck cancers.

My Aunt has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. They biopsied a lymph node and told her that the cancer had spread from an organ and that she does not have lymphoma, but that she has Stage 4 cancer and if the organ is not a vital organ, they may be able to remove it to sustain her life. She has a PET scan today.
Has ANYONE ever lived after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and is it possible for it to be treated?
I know that I am reaching here, but we don't have a lot of information yet............Thanks!

Im going to an endocrinologist for treatment of my thyroid disease (hashimoto's). Well she has diagnosed me as being insulin resistant. I get very sick if I try taking the medicine she prescribed and am wondering if I am truly insulin resistant. She started me on metformin which I could not take at all then switched me to glumetza which also makes me sick. She did this based on 2 glucose fasting tests that I had done by another dr almost a year and half ago, my levels were 102 and 105. Yes I am a bit overweight due to my thyroid not being under proper control (at another dr's expense). I exercise every day watch what I eat and am very active. When I do get blood work done from my endo. it is always just focused at my thyroid levels. Is this normal...can the results from a year and half ago still be correct, should she be doing more tests? Only thing she told me was to take the glumetza and stay on a no carb diet.

I went to a free skin cancer screening and was told I should come back to have 2 dysplastic nevi (abnormal moles) looked at. Has anyone has this done before and had everything turn out ok? My appt is in 2 weeks and I'm completely freaking out about this!
The last time I was at the doc was 6 months ago to have my annual gyno exam (everything ok). One of the moles is on my breast and my OB never mentioned anything about it (she had to do a breast exam on me... also, I had a baby last year so saw lots of docs- don't you think one would mention something if something looked suspicious?).
I do have a photo of me from 2 years ago in a bathing suit (one mole is on my breast) and I can see the mole and it looks pretty much the same, but it definitely is dysplastic nevi.
Can someone help calm me down? Thanks!!!!

I recently did a study regarding gestational diabetes and had found such conclusion:

Gestation diabetes in underweight and normal-weight women appears to be related to insulin resistance combined with a deficit in insulin production, whereas insulin resistance - not inadequate insulin production - may underlie it in obese women.

In other words, normal weight women do not produce enough insulin whereas obese women do..

Isn't above contradicts to the fact that normal weight women has the ability to produce insulin and obese women face with insulin disorder??

Your answers are most appreciated as I am very very confuse.

Ive had it for as long as I can remember (10yrs or so), could it be from biting my nails? It does get sore sometimes as the skin splits and the cuticles also come away from the nail, its maily on my thumbs and pointer finger.
Could it also be a vitamin deficency? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

my chest, jaw, throat and upper arms are aching. I also have arthritis and degenerating lower back discs. I'm not sure if it is the arthritis doing all this. I'm taking darvocet for the pain and just took an aspirin. This started yesterday after some exercise. hope it will just go away. I'm resting and drinking warm tea a using a warm heating pad on my chest. I would certainly appreciate your opinions. thanks
