I have some active dry yeast that is a few months old. It has been in my refridgerator. I made some bread with it the other night and it was ok but it was a little flat and I think I should have used more salt. I was going to try it again today in my breadmaker with a different recipe with bread flower instead of all purpose. Would it work if I let it rise a little longer? How much longer? Should I let my yeast that has been in the fridge get to room temperature? Or should I just get off my lazy butt and go buy more yeast?? If you are a yeast expert I would love any hints on how I can make my bread maker make better bread!

You know how in restaurants or commercials when they show 2 eggs that are fried or over-easy, they are perfectly round with the two yolks in the middle? This is how I found to do it...works just about every time:

Spray a pan w/ nonstick cooking spray or heat up some butter or margarine in a SMALL skillet or pan.

Heat pan over medium-high heat. (or until butter's melted)

Crack the two eggs into the pan, careful not to break the yolks.

When most of the egg whites are no longer see through,....SLIDE the eggs onto a plate, cooked side down.

This is the hardest part........but you can do it!
Hold the plate with the eggs next to the pan and quickly flip them back into the pan with the uncooked side DOWN.

Continue cooking until desired doneness.

I mean when making pudding from packages with powder (like Jell-o brand and similar) - the recipe on the package calls for milk, but all I have is soy milk.

Well my friends and I have decided to have a "School Lunch" dinner. Being out of highschool for a while now, we decided to do something interesting that reminded us of our younger years and thought we'd have a dinner made solely of our favorite meals from the cafeteria...we came up with a few like Tacos in a bag, Chicken patties and tater tots and pizza pockets but we were wondering if anyone had some other interesting lunches they remember liking.

I am living in an apartment, and I'm getting sick of eating nothing but coffee, soup, and pizza. I could really use some good home cooked recipes. What I look for are cheap, quick, easy, healthy...etc. Thanks!
