They are teens, girl 15, boy 17. I have been with their dad for 7 yrs and married 2 yrs. They live with us every other week. They talk to their mom like she is their slave. She does anything they want her to, including lying for them.
Their father has rules, but is very loving to them.
The problem is how they treat me when he is not around.
Disrespectful, rude, and downright mean sometimes.
Then when their father is around they act nice. Their Dad is aware of it but can't do much if he isn't there. I have tried to confront them but they argue and deny. I feel sorry for their mother when they are with her, but feel she created this mess. I don't know if I should get tough, or just avoid them. Any ideas?

Hey. The mother of my boyfriend's child claims that if she cancels child support then he's giving up the right to his child. That isn't true is it? And what do you need to do to get joint physical custody of your child? She never lets him see his baby and she's completely childish. She only does this because of me and his relationship and after the 2 years and 2 months me and him have been together she still hasn't gotten over him. Can anybody help? We live in GA if that helps. Thanks in advance.

I am 21 and I've been married almost a year. We work really hard to make bills on time and I'm going to school full time. I want to have a baby so bad. But I know babies take alot of time and money which I don't have. It really hurts to see my sisters and my friends having babies one after another when I can only dream of having one at the moment. Are there any other women who feel this way, or been through this any advice or counsel to make me feel better.

Do you go to the school and talk to their teacher?

Or do you teach them how to fight and tell them next time they are bullied to go bobcat on whoever is giving them abuse?

Since they already have a VERY good idea we are planning this:

Should we tell our parents of destination wedding upon first meeting; they never met before .... tell them of our plans at first meeting?

My fiance and I have recently decided to have a destination wedding and not invite ANYONE, including our parents.

My parents divorced over 20 years ago and still HATE each other. Both have re-married since then. My fiance's parents are still married and would really like us to have a TRADITIONAL wedding, as would my mother and my grandmother.

While they have an idea of our plans, we are thinking of having them (my mother and stepfather and his parents) meet for the first time for dinner and announce our wedding plan.

We think that they are less likely to get overly upset in the presence of future in-laws, and this will allow them to let the news settle in for a little while.

Is this an ambush to spring it on them like this, or a good idea, so we don't get a guilt trip?

My son and his family are going to be moving in with us. They have a toddler (10 months old). My husband and I also have another son age 13 still at home. We downsized last year to a very small home - just 5 rooms (2 bedrooms, family room, kitchen and bath. We don't want to invade our 13 year olds room because that's his space. We are going to get a sofa-bed to put in the family room - and find somewhere?? for the babybed. We probably have about 1000 square foot home. My husband is a truck driver and will be going over the road during the week, so he will only be home on the weekends. I really need some advice on how to make this work. With so little room and the different schedules, I am a little worried about what to do. Please help with any experience or advice that you have, without suggesting that it not happen, because it's not really an option that they don't move in. They are putting there stuff in storage this week and are moving in this coming weekend.

One of my co workers just told me that his girlfriends mother is coming to visit for a month. He says that he is making up "No smoking here" signs to put up in different areas of the house because the last time she visited she smoked and he didn't appreciate it. I asked him why doesn't he just tell her not to smoke in his house since neither him nor his girlfriend are smokers. He says that he doesn't want to be rude or make her feel uncomfortable so hes just going to put up the signs. Would you put up a bunch of crazy "no smoking" signs in your house or would you just tell people what they can or cannot do while they are visiting?

My mother is worried about me...cuz I don't have someone special in my life....and keeps telling me that I should run after someone that my friend proposed. But how can I be more active and go after him...when I don't know him at all...I have my own pride....and I don't want to go after someone even if I like him. But my mum says that I should take control of my life.... not life to control me....

Is she right or I'm a right?

I am 22 and I'm currently living with my mom along with my 2 brothers and sister. If it was up to my mom she would want us to live with her FOREVER. Well the thing is I have been thinking of getting my own place and I have been thinking about this for a while now. I have been looking through the internet I got an apartment guide booklet. I found these apartments that I was really interested in so Saturday I went to go check them out. Well I absolutly fell IN LOVE with the apartments and ended up putting down the deposit so the apartment will be ready for me on the 1st of next month. The problem is I haven't told my mom I knew I was gonna be nervous to tell her but I didn't think I would be this SCARED!! It's already Tuesday and still haven't gotten the guts to tell her. My mom isn't the easiest person to talk to. So I don't know how to approach her with this. How should I tell her?

i have learned with this woman to tell only what i want repeated. however, she is so bad she cant stop herself even when asked. example she heard something about my daughter and i came out 5 seconds later @ she was on the phone whispering it. son use to however is changing the learned behavior. i know this is a problem as she had me read her a note one day @ it was the wrong note. it was her sister telling her to keep her gossiping mouth closed and to mind her own affairs. this was a letter 40yrs ago. she trys to stand at the door to hear what we say and do. lovemaking as well. how do you agree with this idea? put lock on bedroom door @ turn up tv or radio just enough so she cannot hear? also she takes my things out of the room @ blames the dog. mind that. dogs cant lift boxes around ect. i went to give her, her cloth one day and found a garbage bag of mine in her room. she is much bigger. could she be a kleppdoe? or spite as she feels im taking her son?son wont say a word. i have.help

My parents are talking about about my sister's marriage. I love my sister a lot. Even though I have a lot of friends, I still call my sister my bestfriend. I am 25 years old and she is 18. My mom and my sister still feed me food themselves. My dad says, "since he has appointed me as a CEO of his companies, I have to be a man and grow up.

I am worried I will miss her. I will even marry the girl she tells me to without looking at the girl. Since I only read spiderman comics. She also reads me books while I sleep on her lap. She is the best sister in the world.

But there is one good thing. She is going to marry the brother of the girl, I am going to marry. My sister and I are going to marry our cousins so her future husband is a friend of mine. In our culture it is ok to marry a cousin.

But still I feel sad. How can I handle this?

My brother is getting married in June and i'm really really happy for him. I mean he thought he would never find love(Just like I do right now.)but anyways, that's besides the point. They already bought a town house and are moving away from us in an area that's about 30minutes away...and that's fine and dandy, i mean it's going to be different without him around the house but the thing is they said that in about a year they are going to probebly move to California(5-6states away from where I live) That got me really upset. So now he's working full time so they can offord the place and he has no time for me anymore. I feel so selfish for being all sad bout this. I'm not telling him because I am embarrased with this selfishness I have. I'm really close to my brother. Me and him would watch movies, talk, ect. And now it's like ZIP. It's really really hurting me inside and I have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me not be so selfish and idiotic? Please.
