Words & Wordplay - November 2006

Mine is

"If tears could build a stairway,
and memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven,
to bring you down again.

No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.

My heart still ache in sadness
and secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.

When I am sad and lonely,
and everything goes wrong.
I seem to hear you whisper
"Cheer up and carry on."

Each time I look at your pictures,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm only sleeping,
We'll meet again someday."

The author is unknown, but I think she/he should have told us their name, that poem really means a lot to me. It helped me to get through a lot of tragedies I faced in my life. What about you? What poem/quote/funny saying/saying/song lyrics are your favorite and/or helped you in some way? I'd really like to hear it. :-)

Everyone make up as many reasons why cursing is a sign of intelligence. It can be random, hysterical, weird, whatever, as long as it relates to cursing showing intelligence. I already have:

- our brains have such large vocabularies that the only words that come to the mind most frequently are the bad ones
- summarizes long, tedious detail into a short sentence.

hahaha. I'm writing a 2 minute speech on this and it has to be creative, to the point, and extremely hilarious.

If you could care less, then you obviously care a little bit. But in the context it is usually used it seems to mean "I don't care". If you said "I couldn't care less" this indicates that your level of caring is non-existent. Do you think I'm being pedantic? I couldn't care less.
