is there a word in the english (or russian, for that matter) language for an assumption or a statement that has no way to be proven right or wrong? for example, a statement that there ARE aliens or a statement that the speed of light can't be bigger than 300,000 km/s, or a statement that God exists? i just can't think of it, but i think that there is a word that summarises that.....thanks to anyone to answers.
