hi all

i am a qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer, born and raised in good old' london, england.

Just wondered, i always like to better myself, is there a way that i can get a short permit that will let me go to the u.s. and study there for like a few weeks (doing a course or something) will get me travelling around and learning tooo!

I'm doing a summer assignment and i read this quote on what the people the people thought caused the black death. What do u think this quote means?

Pessimism has 2 meanings one meaning the tendency to expect the worst and the other meaning evil outweighs the good in life. WHich one do you think it is?

For my english essay i have to describe a scene. This is one of the paragraphs i have written:
'the gentle pitter-patter of rain on the dusty rocks drowns out the soft, lonely sobs. The quiet ping, as a tear lands on the glass front of the helmet seems to last for an eternity.'

However, my english teacher (and i agree with her) doesn't think that 'ping' is the right word.

Please could you suggest a better one?
