I know that component cable is superior to coax, composite, s video, etc. I'm about to upgrade my connection from my cable box to HDTV from coax to component. How will I notice the improvement? In what areas? Thanks!!!

When you watch cable with the volume all the way up, you can barely hear the TV. But when we are watching a DVD the sound is great. What can we do to fix the cable sound? Something, somewhere is crossed.

Looking for a new home theater receiver. Will spend about 500 bucks. Want HDMI pass through to 1080p. I will eventually have a blue ray and a 1080p DLP television. The candidates are....

Yamaha RXV-661

Also, Has anyone bought these type of products at online dealers with success. Prices appear cheap. What is the catch?

do you need a projector specially made for dvd players rather than computers. we have seen a cheap Dell one which is mainly for meetings/powerpoint presentations but it says is ok for a small lounge. Would it be ok or would it compromise picture quality? It has 2000 ANSI lumens, contrast ratio 2100:1 and is DLP.

Something went on the fritz at my apartment and now I get too much voltage coming out of my power outlets. I have my audio/video system plugged into a Panamax MAX 1000+ line conditioner, and its overvoltage light stays on when I turn it on. The manual states that the voltage must be greater than 135V for that to happen. The amplifier won't turn on at all and the turning on the DVD player causes the line conditioner to repeatedly turn on and off. I notified the apartments maintenance, but I don't expect them to do anything because other things work, like the tv and lamp. I want to know if there is something I can buy to plug into an outlet and step down the voltage to about 120 AC.

I have an in focus projector. during the start up screen, which typically has shades of blue, the correct color is displayed. But when I connect my laptop and display the screen through the projector, all the colors have a green tint to them. I've tried adjusting the color settings, but nothing helps. Is this a cable issue? or a bulb issue?
