I want the image as big as possible. It will probably be used 2 hours a day max, or longer for the occasional party to play music videos, etc.

I've already got a speaker set up and a blank wall in case I get a projector, but I hear the bulbs have to be replaced a lot? Do you projector owners mind this, and do you think its worth the extra money to have such a big image?

I want to have some parties but I'm wondering if my living room is a good place for playing loud music.

It has a stone floor, one wall is brick, one wall is mostly glass (glass doors), and the two side walls are just normal walls. When I play music it seems extra loud, which is good, except the bass isn't heavy enough.

Does anyone who knows a little about acoustics know what to do?

I have the logitech z5500 and I would like to lower the the vibrations for those who live under me. I tried putting books on the tip of each corner so it wouldn't touch the floor, but i'm sure there are better ways. Clothes under it ? Sponges ? Foam ?

I am in the process of buying a home entertainment system. Do I need to buy a CD player for audio music AND a Blue-Ray Player for movies? Instead of buying two items, I was thinking of buying one Blue-Ray Disc Player which would take care of both my audio and video. Are Blue-ray disc players compatible with high end stereo systems? Would appreciate if you could let me know.

I read a article on HD dvd's vs Blu ray dvd's and it said that 1080p doesnt exist in anything but video games at this point. I'm pretty sure alot of HD and blu ray DVD's claim to be in 1080p so how can i find out if thats true? I have a toshiba DLP 1080p that claims to be full HD.

I want to buy a receiver for around $500. But I am not savvy when it comes to settings and all that. I really just want to turn it on and have my 5.1 surround. But I want my sound to be free of distortion as well.....My friend had a Yamaha, and it was so confusing, it almost turned me off to Home Theater when he was showing me how all the settings worked. I need somewhere between 80-100 watts per channel, whatever that means......

If there is a difference, what are the specs? What does the 18 pin vs 19 pin change or improve?
Why I can see cables costing $10.00 and some costing $250?
Thank you for your time....

When I shut off my yamaha receiver (did this with my old receiver also so it is not a receiver issue) I hear a humming noise from my sub.

Never any trouble when the system is on....and also when wiggling the sub cable around a bit it stops humming, but starts again later on as the cable is never able to stay in a position where it's ok.

I am using a Monster THX Ultra 1000 Series sub cable.....could it be a sub cable problem?
