I am planning on getting a new LCD TV, and I have narrowed it down to the 40 inch Sony Bravia model number KDL-40S2400 and the 42 inch Sharp Aquos model number LC-42D62U. Both cost about the same, so don't base your decision on that. Some opinions would help! Thanks!

And don't say steal it!
I am a student photographer, and I used a standard canon digital camera, but I wan't something with more optical zoom that can be digital. I already have a canon film slr that my mom used to have, and frankly it is quite old and a hassle to carry around. I decided it might be best if I went ahead and invested in an slr, but i know those are extremely pricey! So, do you know where the best deals are for slr cameras, both on and offline?

Or, if not, do you know what the best slr STYLED digital cameras are that are out there?

Thank you so much!

My husband wants a Wii for his birthday and while we have pretty much always kept gaming systems out of the house I was thinking it might be fun. I do not know what the benefits are over the xbox or the p.s. and he tried to explain them. If you could give me brief non-tech versions of his answers that would be great.

Like he said it was backwards compatible do you know what consuls/games and how far back that stretches?

What other benefits are there?

Where would be a good place to purchase this (his birthday is around the same time as christmas, does that make purchasing it a moot point?)

Are there any other components I should consider getting that are not a part of the basic package?

I am thinking about buying a video cam corder that records directly to DVD before I leave the states for Europe, but I am wondering if it will be useless in Europe because it will be region 1? Or does it not matter to the cam corder what DVD you use with it?

The digital ones seem to be a bit cheaper, but is this for a certain reason? I want to buy one for a xmas gift - the person it's for is very technical minded, so I want to make sure I get the better of the two. Thanks for any help.

I'm looking to buy a new compact digital camera (I already have a digital SLR). I'm not so much interested in the latest gimmicks or an extreme number of megapixels or zoom range; my main criterion is lens quality.

I'd be grateful for recomendations on which camera(s) exhibit the least vignetting and curvature of straight lines at the corners of the image. I'm happy to pay a premium price for this but if you know of any bargains, I wouldn't mind hearing about them too!

Thanks.
