For example, I just typed a huge report as a rough draft and saved it a million times. The next day, I went to revise it, and it wan't there.

When I delete songs on itunes, they apear again the next day.

Same with other programs I try to delete.

Every time I go on, the same update pops up for java and for firefox

It's like my computer won't move on?!?

For example, how do I bring up some sort of on-screen controls for controlling the dvd while it's being played (fast forward, pause, stop, play, etc etc etc) WITHOUT having to use the remote? I know some of the keys on the keyboard do some of these functions, but is there any visible prompt/control that you can get to show up on screen so I can click on it with my mouse?

Sometimes when I'm on a web page the mouse scroll wheel starts making the page smaller or bigger w/o me doing anything that I know of to cause this. I then have to exit the page and start over to get the page to just scroll up and down. What did I do to cause this and how do I fix w/o closing out the page and starting over?

I have a WinXP SP2 desktop system that was working fine yesterday. I turned it off last night. This morning, it booted up as normal until it got to the display of the login screen---at that point, it just re-booted itself with no explanation. I can boot in "Safe Mode", and in that mode the Device Manager shows no problems. The disks (which are NTFS) checkout OK, as does the memory. In Safe Mode, I was even able to get on the net and write a CD with some of my recent files on it. After restoring all the disks to yesterday's backup using Norton Ghost, it still behaves the same way. I guess I will try restoring to the day before yesterday. Any other suggestions?

Im thinking of bidding on this computer. I know its a little old, but im replacing something far inferior. what do you think this would be worth. Im thinking maybe 150.00? anything else you can tell me about the system would be appreciated.

I have a MP3 player and trying to download music, but every site I go to either wants you to buy spyware removal, anti-virus removal program, or another MP3 player, or it's impossible to download music without locking up my computer or just shuting it down completely!

i just read an article about mac/windows that claimed mac was the best but gave only negative facts about it aside from the standered " photoeditng movie editing" blither that in the long run doesnt matter at all. this is the only argument ive EVER seen in favor of macintosh. what makes the OPERATING SYSTEM better than windows or linux. and what makes linux better than both (once again thats what you usually here)(info about kernals preferred)

I put files in the recycle bin. They are listed when you click the bin but you cant see or recover the files when you click the icons there.
Is there some way to get at them there and see them or recover them?
