i tried burning songs on a cd-r cd, but it skips when i put it on the car cd player. i thought it was just the one cd but so far all of them have done it. What could i do to prevent it?

ok i recently upgraded to windows xp, don't have sp2 installed yet, my cd burner is an external one, plugs into a usb port, well i was trying to burn cd out and the computer said windows don't reconize this device, then it said high speed device plugged into a non high speed hub, must install a high speed hub controller to fix this problem, so what is a high speed hub controller? and where do i get one? and how do i install it? can someone help me please?

Ok, for some reason, when I am trying to save my powerpoint presentation to my floppy disk, the computer say that there is no floppy disk in the computer. I know that I put a floppy disk in it but it tells me there isn't one. So, is there a way to get it on a another computer without doing it over again? Its for homework. thanks

my screen appears normal but a lot of my e mail rcvd is off to the right and there is no slide bar at the bottom of the screen to bring it back. A lot of my E mail rcvd, I must use the slide bar to view all of it, but some has no slide bar.

i have a compaq amarda 4210 laptop running windows 98se,and the problem i have is somewhere along the line a few months ago the pcmcia cable drivers must have been accidentally uninstalled
so now i cant use the pcmcia cd-rw device or the pcmcia network card,as both times i try to use these devices it notify,s me that the pcmcia cable driver is not installed,it also tells me not to use the defualt windows version but dosent tell me which to use
has anyone had the task of doing a installation like this ,as when i get this pcmcia cable driver issue sorted i will be able to use both cd-rw and network card,and then i can use it for internet usage
it,s a catch 22 situation,i cant use the cd-rom to install xp for instance until i get the cable driver installed,and xp would install it automatically,god this makes me mad
if anyone has any idea how i can fix this problem,it would be hugely appreciated,anyone help?

My computer crashes when I am about 5 to 10 minutes into any of my games that require a higher level graphics capability.

Here is the data about my computer:

It is a Dell Computer withnan Intel Pentium 4 processor (2.4 Gigahertz)
I have 768 Megs of internal RAM memory
The bus clock is 533 Megahertz

I am running Windows XP professional with all the latest updates, including service pack 2.

I have updated antivirus software and several spyware protection programs.

I replaced the graphics card about 6 months ago with a NVIDIA GeForce 6600. It worked great when I installed it and no games crashed back then.

Warcraft III, Act of War, Command and Conquer Generals, Starfleet Command all crash after about 5-10 minutes of gameplay. The computer just freezes and has to be reset. These games all worked fine when I installed the card, but lately, no luck.

Drivers are all up to date.

Anyone have any ideas where I might be going wrong?

I want to restore my computer back to a restoration point yesterday but everytime I try it says it can't restore to that point. I've tried to do it at other restoration points but I keep getting the same message. Why is this happening and what can I do to change it?

For the past 2 days there has been 5-6 updates for VM (Virtural Machine). It keeps updating and updating and updating. Everytime I turn on my computer it states that there is another update, and it's for the same thing. Can anyone help?

I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows Vista when it comes out (I'm on Windows XP Professional at the moment) and I'm wondering whether it will involve formatting my hard-drive. It will be fairly easy to backup my pictures and documents etc, but I can't really be bothered to re-install all my games and back-up all the random files that I might need.

Also, does just re-installing Windows require a hard-drive format too? My hard-drive isn't partitioned, which I suppose doesn't help...
