Internet - March 2007

My brother opened an email that instructed him to update 'Quick Time', it turned out to install a program calling itself SpyLocked. Also, ever since http://asafetyproject.com comes up as our homepage and a windows System Alert pop-up tells us we have Malware (obviously it IS the Malware). I am sure asafetyproject.com and SpyLocked are in fact viruses but I'm havig no luck doing searches on either.

I am a new Ebay user and today I won an Item I made a bid on. Is there a specific time I need to pay for the item? I plan to make a payment by Saturday or Sunday. The seller did not request a specific time she would like to receive the payment so I am guessing it's okay to pay by this weekend.

Hi there the story begins like this
I was in need for some cash so i tried to sell my last year's contract mobile phone on ebay,after acution buyer sends payment to my paypal account and I was new to paypal account and I received £98 including postage, then paypal immideatly limited my account even though I was verified before selling the item

They are now asking for my personal information and stuff but I already did then why again? I read paypal horror story from people in some sites and even here in yahoo answer.So this is really freaking me out!is my money stuck there now?

I think paypal does limit every members account once in a while!Is there any paypal member here whose account never got suspended before or after being verified, when receiving ammount like £98? If not then why is it my account limited?

Any idea how to get my money back?Please I want full advice as I dont know what to do now! I am sure some paypal memebers knows how to solve this problem

It's meant to look liek one of those windows boxes from windows but it says stiuff like, did you know your computers at risk and stuff and when i click the cross it opens a website and it keeps coming up.

Also when I turn on the computer (we have broadband so net is always on) a little information bubble will pop up saying 'This Advertisement delivered by Uptown Engine' then a website will open up automatically at it's usually some sort of gabling site or something I don't want to enter etc. but I don't know how to stop eitehr coming up.
I've done a Virus scan and all is clear.
I recently downloaded Zwinky and if that is the problem I can't find it on the Delete Programs menu so what do I do?
Please can someone help me :)

It works like a cell phone, with reception any place your cell works. Perhaps it comes from Verizon? Who could share some info about this.... or about alternate methods of improving the speed over dial-up...-- or tell me more about 'satilite'

I have cable internet provided by Time Warner (Roadrunner) and they tell me they upgraded to 7mb download speed. I have never seen download speeds close to 7mb, not even 1mb. Why do I not get 7mb download speed, even though they advertise it like it's a big deal? I'm pretty handy with computers so you can answer me with a technical answer. I've heard some answers but they seem to be excuses rather than reasons. Can anyone clarify where my 7mb/s really go?
