I was under the impression that you could still use CL-52 on a Canon Pixma MP450. I thought CL-52 was "special" for photos while CL-51 was for regular pictures/prints. When I received my ink cartridge it doesn't list the MP450 as being compatible... help???

I think I've gone through three optical mice. With each one, when I plug it into the usb, the light stops coming on. Then my computer will say it has malfunctioned, and windows doesn't recognize it. I always try different USB ports, still nothing. Why is that that their life span is as bad as an insect?

We're being told to stop wasting energy by unplugging appliances when they're not in use etc. But I thought that it was safest to keep my pc on stand-by rather than powering down each time. What's the answer?

My computer, not the screen, but that tower thing that makes it all happen, makes a groaning sound along with a high pitched beep every couple of weeks, there’s no pattern or association with any program I’m working in. Recently the groaning has become alarmingly loud, and then it fades away by it self as it always has.

This annoyance does not affect the screen image, or Internet connection, the performance of whatever I’m doing remains unaffected. No warning messages pop-up, System Info shows nothing wrong even while it’s happening! I have 45% memory available, I’ve defragmentized; in fact, I’ve checked everything I can think of. If I turn it off, and turn it on hours later, it only groans worse starting up.

Anyone have a clue as to what might be wrong?

So my computer is pretty old. I do not have the money for a new one, so i thought for x-mas i would ask for a Video Graphics Card so i am able to play the sims 2.

I found a video card and it seems great enough but im having troouble figuring out if t will work with my computer seeing as its old

Ok,
I have an HP pavilion 754n, with a P4 2.5ghz and only supports 1GB of ram.
I allready have a new case which will allow me to switch into a better motherboard.
I dont necesarrily want a duo core or X2 processor at the moment but I would want to upgrade it soon, my questions are.
Can I change my motherboard and CPU into an AMD eventhough I have a P4. Do all motherboards support both kinds of CPUs?? I know the socket is what matters but does it have to be a specific type of motherboard if its AMD or Intel? Also my hard drive has Windows XP Home Edition allready installed in it and it didnt come with the CD, I really do not want to have to buy Windows XP again, will changing the motherboard ruin my stuff?? I dont mind backing up my files I just want to keep windows XP.

I tend to set our laptop in safe mode with networking because I can't come up with the normal mode.It takes me two hours to wait for the windows to open in normal mode and it's not functioning anymore. What shall I do to set it up back again to normal mode. Any help can do...Thank you very much. I really appreciate it!

I have been unable to find a disk defragmentation tool in Mac OSX like there is in Windows. Does this mean the hard drives used in a Macintosh do not fragment? Or if they do, how does Mac OSX deal with the issue differently from Windows?
