it has strange programs that are still running when I shut down, I checked the names of them on the internet and they are just normal computer terms that are they say regitry .I dont understand how I can get it to just turn off, It happens about twice a day..........

I use dial up and would like to kno how can i speed up my internet connection. Kinda want to avoid all those programs that i have to install in order to speed it up but if u wish u can name them. You know what I mean right? When the labtop is shut, not open, flat, etc. I have friends that do it all the time. But can't seem to get mine to do it. I think they have Mac's that might have something to do with it? I have an HP and use Windows XP. Also the music program I use is Windows Midea Player.

I was using my father's computer today for the internet and noticed that his computer doesn't show any pictures. It only displays boxes with little red x's inside the box. He uses Microsoft '98 and AVG Free Advisor Anti Virus Spyware. His Privacy is set to Medium.
Any ideas on how I can fix this problem for him????

I have an intel motherboard with built in audio card
I have lost the CD of the motherboard and i reinstalled windows and i cannot make the audio driver of the motherboard to work, the sound comes out from the motherboard small beeps,
I think it is a realtek audio driver, where could i get the installation file?
