My friend can't download anything properly because her download setting is set to open everything with some text program or something (ie. trying to download limewire). How do you change the setting so that downloads go to a certain folder/program or onto the desktop?

The guy at circuit city pretty much made it sound rediculus.he said you should just burn it to a disk and play it on a stereo.all i want to know is 70w 5.1 gonna make my computer sound like my stereo.peak watts is like 200w.will it be loud.how will it compare to my 300w dvd player. its not like i turn it up all the way maby 2/3 will it be that loud.

tryed to reinstall 3 times same error. i put the cd in it boots fine, i do not want to put the cd in everytime i boot up.

I am able to download any kind of video (TV shows, movies, etc.) except one TV show in particular. I've downloaded several CSI episodes and countless full length movies, but I can't download any Law & Order episodes. I click download and it says "connecting"...but it never connects and after a few minutes it stops trying to connect and says "need more sources." No matter how many sources there are (5,10,45, or even in the hundreds) it won't start the download process. Anyone have ANY ideas at all? Like I said before...I can download everything else...except for Law & Order episodes. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

That means free (no mcafee, no norton) and antivirus (no ad-aware or windows defender which I already have).

These are the top options I know about, but I want opinions on which is best. Really what I want is the one that hogs the computer the least yet is still good at virus detection.

- Avira Antivir - might be best overall, haven't tried yet
- AOL Active Virus Shield (tops with respect to virus detection but may hog the computer more than others)
- Avast - seems to be popular but I've heard not so great things about it
- AVG - heard it has an out of date interface, etc.

how do i know wen i hav a trojan horse on the computer? dus it run like a shadow/adware?? when does it start run? wen start u a computer or wen log in or wen conect to the net? do trojan horses run by a set of comands? or jus does wat eva it likes... can it b hiden in a program or jus in folder? how does it start runin? dnt ask y but i lov getin full details... plus sory bwt ma spelling... dats da way i ryt... but i am a gud spela.... :-)

I got confused. I have 2 PCs, one in my home and the second in my office.

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 3.06GHz, ~2.3GHz

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.20GHz, ~2.2GHz

As u see the frequencies of processors are nearly the same but why the Celeron (R) is running slower than Pentium(R)?
RAMs are the same in both,512MB

i have an imac - whenever i restart the computer a game called nansaur and the system profiler application launch. i know that there is probably a "startup" folder somewhere on the OS that i cannot seem to locate (i'm very windows savvy but am about a year into my mac apprenticeship!). would love it if someone could help me to remove these applications so that they do not launch at startup!

i have a virtual drive always showing, and it doesnt show up in the control panel remove programs list, and when i go to its properties and say uninstall driver, it disappears but then it's there again when i restart my computer. how can i delete it completely?

I have tried running a scan for spyware, and nothing came up. I tried running a virus check, nothing came up. I cleared my cookies, my temp internet files, and history, still nothing. Tried installing an old version of messenger and it also didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Is it corrupt or is this a motherboard thing? When I go under my computer I don't see the D drive mentioned. The floppy A is there but when I put in a floppy I get an error message. It use to be there under "my Computer"
the error message on the CD-Rom is:There is no CD-ROM player attached to this computer. CD player can not start. I always had it before. I have used the cd to install printers and play music. I have used the A drive "floppy" to copy a resume. What is up? could a AVAST virus scan remove stuff like that? I have also ran Bitdefender. Where oh where has my D & A drive. GONE!!!!!!!
