I recently bought a '95 C220, shes my first MB and after a week of driving I have vowed to never buy any other brand of car. I think i've just about figured out all of her idiosyncricies, however this one still confuses me. There is a small 1/4" diameter or so plastic tube comming out of the floor to the left the battery/fuse box in the trunk, about 8 inches long or so. It has an "L" connector on the end, but it is not fastened to anything, nor can i find anything that it could fasten to. Any clues anyone? Vaccume tube for some component that was never installed?

When idling at a traffic light, engine would idle rough. Stepping on the gas prevents it from dying. Not sure what to check. Is this a vaccum/hose problem? The car is a 94 4 cyl Camry.

Yes, I am currently doing a clutch job on this vehicle and transmission fluid leaked out of the back when the tranny was dropped. I need to replace this fluid. AutoZone told me it was dextron III ATF. Is this correct?

Not that long ago I had a little red Metro, about ten years old, 70 thousand miles on the clock, seemed like a nice little runaround... until I took it for an MOT that is, when it failed on just about everything it could - you name it, it failed it. The MOT guy shrugged his shoulders, said, "Sorry mate", and had a look in his eyes like he was having to put down my beloved pet dog.

Now I haved a Nissan, about 10 years old, 128 thousand miles on the clock, and it's just gone through an MOT with absolutely nothing wrong with it. NOTHING. Not even a lightbulb.

Was I sold a dud? Was I just unlucky? Or are all British cars utter, utter rubbish?

The vehicle is being sold by an out-of-state dealership. Also, should I offer to pay the trade-in value as a starting point in my negotiations? (I will be paying cash with no trade-in.)

G6, X3, M5, LS (was a Lincoln, now a Lexus model name - go figure) - I HATE the generic & confusing list. Someone tells me they bought a new MDX & I don't know if it's a Ford, Hyundai or ??? I like names like Mustang, Corvette, or heck, even Taurus - at least my mind can tie it to a specific car. Why do you suppose auto manufactuerers are perpetuating these confusing nonsense names?

Night before last, I measured my battery voltage to be 12.59 volts. This morning I measured it 12.46 volts. The positive terminal is disconnected. Did it drain 0.13 volts worth of energy in 36 hours? or is it measuring differently because it's cooler this morning than when I measured it the first time?

I was wondering if it was possible to fit a 1972 Opel Rekord D Station Wagon with a V8 engine like a Ford 335 or a Chevy 350?
I feel a car like this would be pretty darn cool to have as a utility vehicle for my painting and decorating firm. I'm just not sure if such an engine would fit or if anyone has even tried something like this. Any tips would be great.
If it is possible I think I'll give it a try, the ol' weekend hobby.
Thanks for the help,
Bart.
