I noticed that the car jerks for a while and starts when the wheather becomes hot but would not do so early in the morning when the whether is still cold and after observing this for sometime i want to believe there must be something responsible for it that i have to change.I tried a used cold start switch but no luck.

Mine was a 1980 Mecury Cougar. In 1993, my hubby (who was my boyfriend at the time) & I pitched in for it - it cost $800 Canadian. Today, I drive a 2000 Caravan (we have 2 kids) and he drives a 1994 GMC 4x4 truck.

Last week I had my transmission rebuilt. I picked it up on Friday, on Sat, after about driving 100 miles my check engine light came on. So I disconnected the battery terminals for about an hr. After reconnecting the terminals, the light went off. I drove it for about 5 miles and after comming to a stop the car shut off and would not restart. I had it towed back to my house and examined it myself. I found the problem to be a blown fuse in the automatic shut off. I replaced the fuse and cleaned the treminals in the relay. After that the car started up and ran fine. I drove it for about 20 miles more. This morning while starting my car to warm up the check engine light came back on. Any one have any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it?
(note: I own a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with an inline 6 cylinder enging that has about 129,000 miles on it and a rebuilt 5 speed automatic transmission.)

I was riding through the field and then tried shifting in reverse. When I pushed down on the shifter lever it wnt to neutral and then wouldnt go to reverse. When I tried it again the lever went all the way down and never came back up on its own and is just limp, moving up and down freely. Shaft threads are not stripped on the outside where lever meets the shaft. seems to be something inside crankcase...What is wrong?? What do I do??

Toyota Avalon, 98; took literally 2 months in their service department to fix. Check engine light kept coming on; replaced computer, even, then put old one back in as it didn't fix the problem. Finally decided we had "bad gas" which caused a variety of problems. Prior to this the car ran great, had always maintained properly. Never buy "unbranded" gas. Generally go to same 4ish gas stations.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. A while back while driving my "Service" light came on, and was then followed by my "Trac Off" and my "((ABS))" light. We initially thought that it was just a warning light to get the brakes changed.

The brakes have been replaced - both front and back. Including rotors. The lights are still on.

Also, sometimes right before the lights come on, and when you first step on the brake there's very slight resistance in the brake pedal and it makes a noise that sounds like a motor of sorts shutting down.

Is it possible that the sensor is bad for the ABS system. And that the noise I hear is the ABS actually shutting off?

Anyone have any experience with this problem?

I took it to Meineke for an oil change and the 16 or 24 point inspection and they never mentioned why it was on, but did mention that I needed brakes. I had figured that it would solve the problem. But it hasn't.

Thanks!

I'm a really easy going guy who would like to be everyone's friend, but some people are just insane!!! I was driving to work this morning and in a left turn lane to get on the interstate. When the left turn light turned green, I was the first to go, but as I was making my turn a car coming from the opposite direction attempted to make a right turn down the same entrance ramp and even though he or she could see me coming, they kept pulling out into my path. I yelled at them and kept going. It pissed me off temporarily but I got over it. I try not to flip too out of control when that happens because I know I have done dumb things while driving too. Has anyone else been angered by another driver today?
