My 2000 Jetta dies when it has less than a quarter tank of gas. Once I get the car completely stopped and take out the key, I can just reinsert they key and restart the car immediately. It does happen always, just sometimes.

Any ideas what this can be? Have you seen this before? The Mechanic is not able to get the problem to re-occur, so he isn't able to diagnose it. I'm hoping to be able to point him in the right direction.

The key is separate to the ignition key and i would prefer not to pay a fortune with a locksmith. Will i ultimately need to buy a new cap and key and get the old one removed or is there a key out there somewhere which i can buy for a few quid.

Why cant we have insurance on Auto Repairs. Where we pay a co-pay (like health insurance) or deductible and the auto shops are regulated by the insurance companies. We would pay more for cars that need more repair. Wouldnt it make automakers more interested in making a better car?

I have a car in the shop,
Towed in and it is a 60's -70's vintage auto. Looks like maybe a chrysler, has a Ford Engine however. it was stolen and stripped so I have little to go on except what they called it at the auction. A "Piranah". I have lost title coming for it as it was picked up at an auto auction. The VIN makes no sense at all. By what I see it is a prototype from a while back
Has anyone heard of this vehicle. I have looked everywhere to get an answer. It is a 2 seater. It has at the present a 351C which by the block number puts the engine 69-70. 4 speed manual
I freakin' thought I had seen it all.
I thought I'd pick it up to accompany my Pantera. I love challenges

I use Mobil Clean 5000 right now. The UOA's(Used Oil Analysis) on bobistheoilguy.com are not sufficient enough to give me good data. I really doubt Mobil would make a bad oil. The car runs wonderfully with it, and I drive 70% highway miles so there's no "severe" driving for me to worry about with shorter OCI's(Oil Change Intervals). I particularly like the 5000 mile guarantee. I use purolator oil filters only. My car is a 1991 Toyota Camry, so I don't use synthetic. Older engines like this one don't seem to be designed for synthetic oil from what I hear. (The car engine needs an overhaul because it does some slight oil burning, which is my other question here that has already been resolved) I was just wondering if for example someone drives the same car as I do, and has a lot of miles like I do (228,700). I just want to keep this car running as much as I can until I need to overhaul the engine. So what's your favorite conventional oil?
