What I am asking is how to do it, reason for confusion is I got a repair manual and it talks about such things as alternator tranaxle etc removing splash shield wheel all kinds of things but when I talk to others they say just disconnect the battery loosen bolts and take alternator out how involved is this?

I would think it would. Do you need to know how many miles per gallon their car drives?

1998 BMW R1100RT
With a full tank, sometimes the gauge shows full, sometimes it doesn't. Somewhere around 3/4 of a tank it drops to a zero reading.
The low fuel warning light dutifully comes on right around the last gallon of fuel... in other words I'm being a big baby about it but it would be nice if all the bells and whistles actually worked, ya know?
Anyway I put in some "fuel system cleaner" that was supposed to remove "sulphur compounds" that are known to cause this kind of problem - didn't help.
Ideas anyone?

nothing rude here btw!

Two things seem to work for me-putting the heater on to warm up the car, and opening the windows to let people's breaths out.
These strike me as working against each other however.

So what is the fastest way to stop car windows steaming up?
