I have a 2000 automatic Ford Escort ZX2 With about 50,000 miles. Every time I start out from a stop, my break light comes on and won't turn off until I a)hit second gear or b) tap on my breaks.

If you could tell me what this could be and how much it might cost to fix, that would be awesome. I'm a poor college student, so i can't really pay a mechanic 100 bucks just to check it out.

The "Check Tire Pressure" light comes on every time I have any sort of work done on my tires. The car manual did not include instructions on how to reset the sensor. On the previous car I had, my mechanic showed me where the reset switch is for the O2 sensor. I'm hoping the tire sensor can be reset just as easily. Any ideas?

I have a 2001 Astra Van with the Vauxhall 1.7 TDI engine. After just having a new starter motor fitted, on start up the engine is rattly and the oil light stays on and flickers for 5 seconds and then as the oil gets round, it returns to normal and the dash light goes out. The car and spanner dash light stays on now and when I took it back and had the van plugged to the diagnostics, I was told that it was indicating a faultycrank sensor, but as it runs fine and the rev counter is working, just forget about it. Could it be conected to me having the starter fitted or is it coincidental and it's something like the oil pump slowly dying? If anyone can shed some light, I would be grateful. Pat.

My window was shot out with a BB gun and my husband taped plastic over the window with clear packing tape. Now there are bits of glass stuck in tape residue all around the repaired window. How can I get it off and not damage the paint around the window? The company the insurance company sent to repair the window would not touch it.

I am building a chopper, and I'm doing some welding and stuff to the tank/fenders. Do I use bondo to fill/smooth everything out? Do I put it over the whole tank/fenders, or just the weld? Do I have to worry about it cracking later? Do I do it before or after the primer goes on? I want to weld in my struts for the rear fender, so it's a strutless, or kind of. Then make it look like they are not in it.

Any tips?

Will probably be making a purchase within the next several months. I'll be taking my Motorcycle Safety Course shortly. I've been doing research and I'm debating on what size bike to buy. I've heard 250, 600-750, and 1100.

The problem lies in the fact that I'm about 6-4, 230lb. so I question the strength to tote my heavy a**. I'm not planning on it right away, but I'd eventually like to take my wife on afternoon rides as well. I've been looking strongly at the Yamaha VStar 650 and 1100, Honda Shadow (both the 750 and 1100 models). I thought about a Sporster, but I've been told I'm too big and I'll get tired of being cramped.

Any input would be appreciated....

I am thinking of investing in a basic sat-nav model (no more than £200) as will soon be starting a job that requires me to travel to new places everyday. And I am hopeless with maps! Is it worth investing in one? What models do you recommend? How do you power them up - do they need to be installed/attached to anything in the car or do you just stick them on the screen?

My wife had an accident where was her fault. She drove into side lane and collided with the other driver’s car. The other driver’s car was fine and no damage, no dent and no scratch. But my car had some scratch.

They both stopped and checked. Because everything was fine to the other driver’s car, so they didn’t call the police. The other driver just asked my wife’s number, wrote down plate number and then left away.

Now the other driver calls my wife to ask for details, like address and insurer’s details.

Q: Should I provide any detail to the other driver?
Q: What if I reject providing her my details?
Q: Can I ask the other driver for her insurance details as well for me to claim?

Thanks for answering my questions.

Hello. First of all, thanks to all that helped with my last question " 93 Seville 4.9 PO12". I appreciate.
Well to the next question, My Caddy is surging at idle and while I drive. When I stop she seems to want to drive right through the brakes and the rpm dont wont to fall off. I find if aI brake very slowly and bring her down slow there will be a point when she just all of the sudden drops the revs and calms down. Other times she just keeps screaming. It will actually gain speed on its own without touching the accelerator. Even shifting to neutral and stomping it to kick it down doesnt always work. Any suggestions are appreciated.
