I have lived by trains nearly all my life and still can not believe the amount of weight they can pull....the largest truck can only pull so much weight but a train can pull dozens and dozens of cars filled to the brim with stone, weighing over 50 tons each! With all that pressure pushing down on each car, how does the engine (weighing a small fraction of the total weight, pull all that weight? Especially getting started slowly with virtually no grip - just smooth metal on metal. Always wondered!

I already have a 1990 Carrera 4 which I enjoy but fancy the idea of something newer. I can't help feeling though that the Boxster is a bit of a 'girly' car... should I stick with my 911 or change?

Ok , I bought a toyota rav4 1998 with 175 000 kilometres on it from the Toyota Dealership 1 yr and 1 month ago. We never got but a month guarantee because it was over 5 yrs old and and had more than 170 000 kl on it. we didnt get and extended guarantee. So the story goes, we now have 200 200 kl and the timing chain and water pump went. Wasn't the Dealership responsible to make sure that the vehicule was upto date on its maintenance before we drove it home? Should they have maybe mentioned something about this, as this timingbelt thing seems to be pretty general for all toyotas, and they need replacing before 150 000 clicks.

In 1982 i scrapped my Mini. I took it to bits and sold all the parts. I have recently found the vehicle registration document. It is still in my name. Does the registration number still belong to me and as there was no need to sorn the vehicle then will i liable for any charges?

Nice radio system (cd player good sound) also I have 20 inch rims almost new low profile tires. i haven't had any problems and there isn't any known or obvious problem except the driver seat is torn alittle bit (wear and tear) but I do have the mysterious "CHECK ENGINE" light on well it comes and it goes but not sure why. In VA could you give me a estimate on what you think the value is. Thanks for you time and help

I have a 1990 mercury grand marquis. The heater core was about to go, so I disconnected it. Now winter is coming and I dont have heat. I inquired about those $20.00 portable heaters that fit into cig lighter, but EVERYONE I spoke with said they are junk. They barely defog the windows, let alone heat the interior. Anyone know of any others that might work better? Thanks to all.

I have changed shocks on older cars and found the process straight forward, but I've never done struts. Do I have to remove anything other that the wheel/tire to do the job? Do I need any special tools? Does anyone know of a step-by-step on the web? Thanks!

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my climate control system in my truck. Of the 3 knobs avaliable (fan, temp, and function), only the fan knob is functioning correctly; the temp knob doesn't change the temp at all, and with the "function" knob, and position other than "off" turns the A/C on - I'm wondering if one of the wires may be bad, or one may not be grounded - I'm considering picking up a unit from the junkyard and see if that works - any thoughts??? I'd appreciate it, as winter is quickly approaching!!!
