I bought a brand new Seat Altea 1.9 tdi Reference Sport on the 30th July, on the 24th August my handbrake failed while stationery and caused extensive damage to one of my doors. Seat are taking no responsibility for this and said my handbrake is 25% effective. My mum had a similar problem with exact car over a year ago where the car rolled off ramps after braking failed again.

The car dealer has 3 different ones.

One is a 2003 P71 for $4000 (126000 miles) (No holes)

Another is a 2003 P71 (Sheriffs car) for $2500 (166600 miles) (some holes)

And the last one is a 2002 for 1,575. (182600 miles) (with holes)

They are all Crown Victoria's and all P71 except im not sure about the 2002 model.

They are all former police cars and one is a former Sheriff's car.

Are Sheriff's car's usually better taken care of than just the normal Police cars?

I have heard some people say that former Police cars sell cheaper than regular Crown Victoria'a because they are not treated well, or that they have been driven really hard and do not last as long as one that has not been used as a Squad car.

Do any of you have any information that could help me.

I am looking for a reliable, safe car and I know that it is impossible to counsel me without looking at the car but as a general rule do any of you know anything about Police cars, and Sheriff Cars?

i have a 2003 dodge neon and my thermostat keeps rising to the highes level setting off the indicator (its not broken) i did have a leak in the raiditor and it was very notice able..
after pacthing is up there was noproblem till yesterday now the thermostat keeps rising i admit the is very little antifreeze in ther and the rest is water but the is the same mixture tha was in the care that it was rinning off for the last three minths i cannot seem to keep the thermostat down my raiditor is in nee of repair but i m wondering if its the water pump does the water pum help regulate engine temperture? ther are no ivsible leaks and no drippiage could it be that i just need to put antifreeze or could it be the water pump or a broken raidiator? help i will give points for best anwser but really i just need help!

One of my known person was approaching me for Santro 99 model(not sure abt the version), available at the cost of 75-80k.
and he is assuring its accident free and the condition also very excellent.
Am still wondering how come a santro will b available for just 80K.
there is one drawback, the car is currently with the 3rd owner..

I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier Pickup 2.4 ltr 4 cyl engine. Auto tran with 78,000 miles.
I had just picked my truck up from the dealer repair center after an accident in july. The entire frontend suspension system was replaced with a good amount of body work to the left front,but I was advised to get a brake job FAST.
I take the car to a Midas brake shop today. The manager tells me i need new brake pads, and rotors on both sides. He showed me the grooves and it wasn't pretty. So 500 dollars and five hours later I have new pads and rotors. He then proceeds to inform me that the dealership goofed on my repair and installed the wrong spindle . He said it was too small in diameter and causing too much freeplay with the bearings. He said it was safe to drive home and to take it to the dealership tommorow morning and demand that they give me the correct parts at no cost or labor.
I am still hearing grinding from the front left brake. I smells like metal. What can i do? Help.

or do people just do that for heat. If there is an advantage to letting your call idle while you wait for the temperature gauge to start moving up, what is it? If it's bad for your engine to just start driving in frigid cold weather immediately after starting your car up, what harm exactly are you doing?

I have a '95 Ford Ranger. I was asking about what the best gas stations are and this person said that about 87 octane fuel to use only on lawnmowers and I don't even know what a Hyundai Excel is. I know Hyundai makes cars and crotch rockets and several other things with engines in them, but I don't know what an Excel is and I don't much care. I just want to know if this statement has any vailidity to it or if it's pure b.s.

I have the Yamaha xv Virago 535 as stated, just bought it monday, filled it up and drove 75 miles. It has no petrol gauge but on my last bike I was able to get about 170 miles before switching to reserve so I guessed this may be about the same. However, after the 75 miles it started coughing and choking, then after a few jumps it stopped and wouldn't start again. Of course I hadn't imagined it would be a petrol issue and so sent it to a garage, they said it was running on fumes and had been sucking in crap from the air (plenty of that in central London!) so I guess it may have run out of petrol, but that sounds waaay too low mileage capability to me! Does anyone know how much mileage I should be getting? Anyone have an idea of something else it may be (from past experience, not just guesses:) )

I bought a Caravan on 8-21-06 At Starrs car In Perry Ohio I drove it off the lot and 22 miles later the engine light came on I went back and Jason the salesman checked the codes and had said it was a sensor bad they did change it and I drove 122 miles and the same thing happen Starrs Car changed the 2nd sensor Then I drove 1300 miles and it stopped shifting codes were showing sensor Jason said to leave it with them and they would take it to a transmission shop well I did it was left on 9-29-06 and I rented a car from them. I called the trans. shop on 10-05-06 and Rich said their was nothing wrong with it he said to pick it up and drive it and see what happens Starrs car took me to pick it up after I paid 97.00 for the rental! I drove it 27 miles and the engine lite is on and Shifts really hard to rhe lower gears I owe 7,000 and made one payment and 750 down. Is their anything i can do to get my loses back?

i brought a corsa last week and it seems dodgy to me now. the reason i say that is because its on an N reg plate making it a 1996 model but when i tried to insure it the year comes up as 1993/94 model. it also says on the log book 1996. am i being paranoid? also it seems that some of the interior is missing like the glovebox and shelf under the glovebox and also the seat belt on the drivers side is broke. i took it back to the exowner and he said that the car is mint and got funny with me and as im a woman he quite intimidated me so i just took it away.
