Why are nautical miles used in aviation as opposed to just regular standard statute miles? To me it would make more sense to use the same in the air as on the ground.

I travel from London - Derby on the train at least every 3 weeks, even if I book a week in advance (this is the most I can) it still costs around £45.
Is there any way to get it cheaper? I know students/OAPs etc can get rail cards, but Im not a student, Im 28, not on benefits etc.
I dont wanna take the bus cos it takes too long.
Ive looked at various sites such a qjump.com and the trainline, but cant find any much cheaper.

If an aircraft is flying through cloud or rain it must be sucking in hundreds of litres of water. How does the engine keep running?

I've taken the rear seat out. The foam has absorbed the diesel. I also have diesel on some trim. Unfortunately the spill is next to the gas tank. Any harm with that? It seems to have eaten the lining on the metal between the seat and tank.

I've got a nissan 300zx (sports car) witch I love, but my wife is pregnant and it's time to go practical. 5 doors, big boot, cheeper on fule etc. I don't want boring. leather and electrics woud be nice, also something that stands out. Also I need to sell my car. I've had it advertisied for some time but no joy, so I might have to part exchange.
