When I use the brake it makes an awful metal on metal screeching/grating sound and the bike stops dead. (I can feel it as well though it feels like it's under the engine some where) There's no slowing down, just a dead stop. It had new shoes a couple of months ago and the mechanic checked it out yesterday and couldn't find any thing obviously wrong. Any ideas?

Custom bike builder Billy Lane surrendered to Florida authorities Sept. 25 after tests showed his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit during a collision that killed a moped rider.

Lane was charged with driving under the influence-manslaughter, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily injuries. Toxicology tests showed that Lane’s blood-alcohol level was 0.192 percent, more than twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent, according to authorities.

The charges result from a Sept. 4 highway accident in which Lane’s pickup truck allegedly struck and killed Gerald Vernon Morelock, a 56-year-old park ranger from Melbourne Beach, Fla., who was riding a Yamaha moped. Investigators said the accident happened after Lane crossed a double yellow line to pass at least two other vehicles before striking the moped head-on.

I got a ticket near Albany. 62 in a 45 work zone on the thruway. I was in the process of slowing down, but I guess I didnt do it fast enough. I plead not guilty and sent a "nice" letter like the officer told me to do. Now, I have a court date instead. I really dont feel like driving to Albany again. In fact, I cant, because I work full time and I dont think I can make it.

So, has anyone just bent over and taken it you know where? What were the damages? I just switced insurance, so maybe it wont show up until they renew? Thanks.

I am moving to France next week and will be taking my British registered car. I rang my insurers who told me that they would only insure me 'up to the ferry' and after that I'd have to get French insurance. Surely there has to be a buffer with the insurance which protects you until you get to your new residence or the like. I know with travel insurance you are protected until you get back to your home - not as soon as you land in Dover or Heathrow! I don't want to drive uninsured - has anyone else got any experience of this matter?

I have a 99 Ford windstar. When i bought it, it had previously been dinged up in a multi-car munch. Anyway, all the electrical stuff worked great, but now when i press the door locks, only 3 out of the 5 doors will actually lock. And sometimes they get stuck locked until i pry them up. Please give me some suggestions on how to get them back in sync.

I took out insurance on my car 3 days ago. Ive tried to pay the road tax via the vehicle licence website, but the website is saying there is no record of my vehicle being insured on the motor insurance database. Can anyone tell me how long I need to wait before the motor insurance database will register my insurance thus allowing me to pay my tax?

An employee got into an accident in a company vehicle, which is insured. The employer wants to charge the employee 1/2 of the cost of repairs. The deuctible on the vehicle is $2000.00. I don't know if it is legal to charge the employee since it happened in a company vehicle and it is insured.

I live in AZ and was recently in an accident. It was the others person fault, she was in the median and didn't stop and I slammed into her at 75 mph. I talked with her ins and they are inspecting my car which I believe is totaled and are going to get back to me in about 2/3 days. Everybody keeps saying I should talk to an attorney. I wasn't that injured, my parents came to the scene and drove me to the hospital where I was discharged with only scared tissue and brusing. Her ins said they will pay for med bill and loss of wages, then get back to see if the car was repairable if so then discuss settlement. What to do?? Help please!!

Today I hit a speed bump (not going fast) and my "VDC" (traction control) light and "Slip" light illuminated, along with the "Service Engine Soon" light. The engine would not respond when I pressed the gas pedal. I turned the car off and back on and it worked fine but the "Service Engine" light remained inlluminated. I took it to a shop where they plugged their computer in and the guy said it was a pedal sensor error. He told me it must have been a glitch and he reset the light. About 15 miles later, the same thing happened. I just went over my 36,000 mile mark (the end of my warranty). Does anyone know what might be the problem, and if I need to take it in to Nissan or a garage to fix?

My boyf passed his driving test about a month ago, but because we went on holiday straight after him passing, he hasn't managed to send off to replace his provisional for his full license. Does anyone know if there is time limit how long you have to send off for your full license?

I'm traveling with my hubby and two sons next Monday. We're flying from Calgary, arriving in TO at 7:45 pm at terminal 1, then flying out of terminal 2 headed to Orlando at 8:55pm. I'm concerned about the connection time - is 70 minutes long enough to change terminals, retrieve our baggage from the first flight, go through US customs and be on the plane in time for the second flight?? Has anyone personally taken this flight in the past and can offer advice?
Thanks!
