My Vauxhall Vectra has a few niggling problems. Every so often the electronic manager warning light comes on. It disappears when I switch off the engine, and may not re-appear for weeks. Also, on several occasions the car has cut out on me when driving slowly. Finally, the car sometimes has difficulty in starting when the engine is warm or hot. I’ve had the car tested by our local Vauxhall garage, but they can’t find anything wrong. If anybody can suggest anything to help, I’d be extremely grateful.

I was told the tires would be safe because they are steel belted and they hold air and have good tread. I have drove on them for a month now and no problem. I just saw the cracks in the spaces between the tread, and now I am worried. Understand the cracks are the spaces where you can put a penny between the tread to check to see how much tread you have. I suspect these are old tires and may have dry rot I do not know. I did not notice this when I first bought them. Is it true the cracks I should not worry about as long as the tires hold air? Also is it true the steel belts are what is holding the tires together?
