Collectors pay top dollar for cars made in the 20s.

Back then automakers took pride in their product.

Now, anybody driving a car more than 10 years old doesn't want to invest a dime in it because it's virtually worthless on the used car market.

These days, filling the tank of a 10 year old car doubles its value!

And does it seem like we're getting raped when we pay the money for what we believe is quality, but the car doesn't end up lasting any longer than a Yugo?

Am I the only one that feels rage about the poor quality & workmanship and the high prices we're forced to pay because of government mandated bumpers, lights, gismos, gatdgets, bells & whistles?

I have looked at buying a car with what looks like a genuine number plate.when i have looked at insurance the correct model does appear but is it possible this car could have been q plated before.if so how is that possible without the customer knowing.

I love my car and don't want to get rid of it. But it has been a pain in the butt lately. I blew a headgasket four months ago, and me and my Dad re-built the engine. Then I two days ago, it busted the timing chain on the highway. So again, the engine's coming apart. It's a SC. So any advice would be helpful. (Don't bother if your just gonna say 'get rid of it'!!)

There was a minor accident with no police report, got a verbal agreement. I am willing to pay for the repair of the other car, but this person is giving my a hard time, she wants to take the car only to the dealer, which is very expensive, I have shown to her other 2 places, but she did not like them, what should I do?

I was on my way to pick up my boyfriend from work, driving my usual way. I came to the last light, it was green, i made a right hand turn onto the road. I was going about 15 mph. As i turned all i saw was a car half on and half off the road. I slowed and went around, as i was about to completely clear the vehical, the woman slamed right into me causing me to do a 180. i pulled my car to the side of the road and we waited for the police. as soon as they arrived the woman jumped out of her car and started going on about how i was hauling around the curve, which was a complete lie, my point how could she see me come hauling around the curve, yet she couldnt see me when she hit me and didnt stop, just kept going. My car is wrecked, and her car had a scracth on the bumper. The cop gave me a warning for improper passing to shut the woman up, yet she made a u turn into me? Just curious

I have a 1999 Chevy Venture van. It runs great except for this squeaking noise. When you turn right it squeaks like a
tricycle with a rusted wheel.

I took it to my mech Wed. He said he took the entire uncarriage apart, checked bushings, sway bar, control arm, shocks, struts, tires, rotors, and even checked ball joints throughly. He said he checked everything he could possibly think of, he could find nothing and charged me nothing.

The squeaking is so aggravating that I always ride with the radio up fairly loud to drown out the noise. Last night I noticed that this squeaking 99% of the time only happens when I am turning *RIGHT* into a parking lot/4way/or any right turns--- and causing the van to rock from left to right. When I turn *LEFT* anywhere also causing the van to rock from left to right it doesn't do it.

I mean it is terrible. It sounds as if the van is just an old rusted piece of junk. Only recall - STEERING:GEAR BOX:SHAFT SECTOR #99V071000

Please help.

'04 Scion XA. The noise is somewhat high pitched and it's throughout the whole car, not just in the general area of the door, like a vibration problem.

I know a guy who just had a car accident, he was going across a street and got side swipe but because he had a stop sign, they called him at fault, with that, he has a running but busted up frount which he can't even open the hood and has one headlight. My question is simply this, he only has a couple of choices:

1.Try to take it to the body shop and get it driveable and safe.
2.Scape the car and buy some cheap car to just get him around.
3.Other.
