Other than taxcut and turbotax. They charge more than they are worth. I shouldn't have to pay $60 for something that I can do for free the old fashioned way. I'll probably just send in the paperwork. If it was important to the IRS for us to e-file they would make it cheap or free.

My Husband made 52,000 this year and paid quite a lot in taxes. He had me and our daughter has dependents because I didn't work. Then the last 3 monthes of the year I got a part time Job. I didn't claim myself since my husband did. We just took our taxes to be done and they say we owe 4,000 dollars and all but 700 of it is due to me working. But I only made 1400 dollars at my job. I am very confused.. Can any one explain this to me?

People who are 100% disabled are not given this credit. Know a man who has not been out of bed in ten years and does not get extra deduction. Are the blind worse off? Anyone know history of this tax excemption.

I sold my primary residence in 2006, for $125,000 and bought a new house for $205,000 in the same month. I used 75% of the profits from the sale ($30,000) as the down payment for the new place. My question is twofold. Do I have to pay taxes on the profit I made from the sale of my house, and secondly, can I deduct the improvements I made on that house, such as appliances, bathroom remodeling, etc.?

I've never done my own taxes but I am thinking about doing them myself this year. I just can't justify paying to have someone else to it. I'll have a pretty simple return. I'm a single mom, filing head of household, I have 1 son and the only thing I plan to claim is daycare expenses. I guess I'm just worried that I'll screw it up. I've never even really looked closely at my W-2. I'm not sure what it all means. Do you think I can do it by myself? Are the online sites easy enough for someone like me to understand?

We had our taxes done last week and the $$ was direct deposited into our account already. When I got home yesterday there was a w-2 in the mail from unemplyment I received for the month of January that I COMPLETELY forgot about $2000 with 0 taken out for federal so obviously I owe something, but I dont know how do I start all over if they have already been done and even already got my refund, or should I just wait and see if they even catch it and then pay it when they catch it????
