I have three degrees (BA in Communications, BFA in Creative Writing, and a MA in English Education). I cannot, for the life of me, seem to find any sort of job outside of the education field (which I no longer wish to pursue). Can putting all three degrees on my resume hurt my chances at being hired or considered for a job?

a question for any options-knowledgeable people out there...

let's say i'm convinced a stock is going down, and i want to use this to my advantage. however:
- i cannot short the stock
- i am NOT concerned about leveraging my investment (i.e. i can easily afford 1/3 to 1/2 the stock price)

is the best strategy to pick put options that are far in-the-money ( which have deltas close to 1 ) to just follow the stock down?

are there other repercussions of picking these more expensive options, like tax conserations?

ok so we had no car and our landlord offered to help. He sold us a car for 3,600. we paid him weekly for the car and rent with cash no recipt.(BIG MISTAKE) We have been paid up in full for around 4 months and everytime we asked for our title he would come up with an excuse. I know he said he had to release a lean??????? I have an idea but I am confused. Then he said that the title should of been mailed to us a year ago... Well here comes the problem we recently moved out of the house due to him just being an ***.....he called because he thinks that we still owe him money for rent. We told him we didnt so he says he is going to take it from the car and then repo our car.. Remember there is nothing in writing is all mouth to mouth. Rent car all of it!!! The registration is in our name but that it. What do I do. ???? I know that rent and car are seperate things. I also know that we were blind and stupid...live and learn...right?

Hi there,

I have a request from a senior coworker for me to stop by and touch base w/ him at least once per day to make him feel more comfortable with the level of communication.

I understand that and I am totally willing to do that. What I would like to know is how other people feel about their coworkers stopping by to touch base?

I want to give adequate communication. At the same time, I don't want to be a pest!

Oh yeah, I've only been on this job for like 2 months.

Thanks!

Today a friend of mine had to come into the city, so I decided to meet her for lunch. Well I was "caught" by my boss who was there to see a client. I was reprimanded and told not to make a habit of it!
For the record I never take lunch, although I am entitled to a 45 min. unpaid lunch per day. I work from 8:30-5:15 (often times later then that). I am paid a salary so no overtime for skipping lunch or working late. Most days I scarf down a sandwich or leftovers at my desk between phone calls or meetings.
So my question is, when did it become wrong to actually take a lunch break? My work was caught up, it was unpaid and it took no more then the 45 minutes. So how was i in the wrong?
I know the lunch break is becoming a working lunch, as most people I know eat lunch at their desks while they continue to work, but why should I get in trouble when I take an actual break once in a blue moon?

I filled out a job search form for driver/courier position with FedEx online, and they sent me an opportunity to come in and fill out an application and begin testing for their courier position.

What kinds of testing will they be doing? What kind of questions will they be asking? Is this an interview? Do I have to take a physical to work as a courier?

Should I dress way up for this training thing?

I have plenty of delivery experience as a pizza delivery guy for 9 years, so I hope that helps my cause.

Thanks for any info.

I've only worked at Washington Mutual for one week. I don't work this Friday and so far my 1st week on the job has been stressfull, successfull, and tiring.

Just a few minutes ago, I got a call from PG&E asking if I can work as a full-time auditor from 8-4 pm. I didn't know they would call anymore to schedule an interview with me because the hiring date expired last month. I was surprised that the manager called me for an interview.

I've never been put in a situation like this before. After my 1st full week working at Washington Mutual, I get a call from PG&E. I applied at PG&E before Washington Mutual and now I have to decide which job am I gonna choose.

I also have an afternoon part-time job at Mervyns and getting limited hours due to my morning schedule.

How do I tell my boss at Washington Mutual about my job interview at PG&E? How do I explain my morning job situation to the Mervyns management team?

Inexperienced trader seeking for experienced traders' input: (Thanks in advance for your time)

It was 10/18 - before 1:00am - when I placed an online order to buy ONT with limit $1.20 each. I got it for $1.16 - the highest ONT trading rate for the day - even at 10:30 am east - when I called my broker to ask why I got the shares at the highest rate:

1) Broker said AMEX trading hours for ONT have not really started at 9:30am.
2) The charts on broker site show the AMEX opening hours: 9:30 am/ Opening price for about 4 minutes: $1.07/share and it did not jump right away to $1.16.
3) I did not order to buy the shares before the AMEX opening hours. But my broker said it is how AMEX deals with the orders.
4) Broker also said that if I had placed an order to sell, it would
get processed immediately. Since I placed the order to buy, it didn't get thru so fast.

Is here any trading sense from his say or he forgot to add key words?

I've recently split up with my soon to be ex-husband. He has a large income I have virtually none. (A small workers comp settlement payment which is non-taxable) He is self employed & claims about 1/10 of the income he actually makes. I don't want to sign anymore lies for him. I am also wondering if I can do an amended return & file married filing seperately. If the IRS ever audits him & his accounts I don't want to be responsible. Thanks
