I have 12 of these little leather covered books. They are about the size of a pack of ciggarettes. They are from The Little Leather Library - Redcroft edition, I believe from 1908. I've been to sites, and ebay, I just want to know if anyone has had any luck selling them...and for how much

I'm reading (and loving) Anne Tyler's _Digging to America_. It's already my favorite since _Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant_. Her insight into the heads and hearts of her characters is nuanced and individualized. And she seems to LIKE her characters despite their failings. I also love how she shifts perspective (like William Faulkner) in the two novels I've mentioned in order to see a storyline and its characters from different perspectives.

Maryam, in Digging to America, for example, is a mostly sympathetic character, but when we see her through others' eyes, we see how chilly and imperious she is, how lonesome she is in her well-ordered, self-contained little world.

What's your favorite Anne Tyler novel and why?

I have read almost all of James Patterson's books--"Cat and Mouse"; "Jack and Jilll"; "Four Blind Mice"; "Kiss the Girls"; "The Big Bad Wolf"; etc. . . What are some other really good mystery wriiters and books?

Its gotta be good like Patterson's books are--easy to read, not too wordy and interesting, also not vulgar. Just a genuine good book by a good writer.

Let me know, as I am thirsty for another good mystery.

If this book were made into a movie who would you cast as the characters? I see Ellen Pompeo from "Grey's Anatomy" as Reece and Julian McMahon from "Nip/Tuck" as Brody. Also, Owen Wilson as Lo.

there was a poem i remember, the last one in the book.
the ice cream man, that crazy man
he threw the cones in the garbage can
he threw the ice cream in the lake
he threw away the ice cream cake....
the cherries i love, he also threw
it drove me nuts and he threw those too.

another poem
down at the bottom of a deep, dark well
the cat in the hat and the lorax dwell
waiting to be put to use
in another great book by dr. seuss
