Why can't all people be blessed with some sort of special talent that will get them out of poverty?

it's a short story about an incident that occured during the Holocaust. a Jewish (?) man is taken by the Nazis and told to dig 3 graves and bury 3 Polish men alive. he refuses. the Nazis then tell the Polocks (sorry couldn't help myself) to do the same. they bury the man up to his head and are then ordered to dig him out. once the Jewish fellow is out he is ordered to dig the graves again and this time he does. after he has buried the last Polish person, he is shot in the stomach and left to bleed to death.

i think that's how the story goes. i remember reading it as a senior in high school and it really troubled me.

Think the "Illuminati" is real? Is his history correct? Maybe not the whole story but the oldest "Brotherhood" is still alive? Scares the crap out of me.

Im not saying that i dont believe in god (I do) but, what if the person who wrote the bibble just lied about the whole thing? I mean, i could make some kind of book about... some god i make up, and in a few hundred years, someone will end up believing it and start rumers.

Im just, saying, what if the bibble is a lie? The person-and/or-thing could have written a lie in every word you read, and be laughing at us right now.

A Boston-bound American Airlines jet with 240 passengers and 13 crew aboard returned to London's Heathrow airport on Monday over a security issue, but there was no threat to the aircraft, the company said.

", the company said," why exactly is there a comma placed before this? I'm starting to understand comma rules, but what's with this one?

I'm looking for a book detailing the life of Abraham Lincoln...oddly enough I became fascinated with him reading a fictional book (the snake oil wars, by Parke Godwin). Do people have any recommendations on which one they enjoyed the most?

The symbolism and specific interpretations that are to be found in famous literature of the past (in any form) ,How can we know what the authors had intended them to be? For example, when taking a lit class the students are ask to find the symbolisms and interpretatations that are in the piece of literature. How can we know for certain that we have found the symbolisms and interpretations that the author had intended when writing the piece of lit? The authors didn't write explanations of their intent., but yet in lit classes there is supposedly only one correct answer that the students are to find.

In the book the media start calling it Lazarus Syndrome because the dead don't stay dead and start to rise. The first case is a black man trying to kill/eat his family and the cops think he's on PCP because bullets won't bring him down. The comet that travels close to the earth makes people sick and I believe it casts a weird sickly light to the daytime. I vaguely remember a part in the book where someone has to break in somewhere and I think they're may
be some zombies that become intelligent. I just can't remember the title or author and I think it's the best undead fiction I've ever read.

what is the best way to attract and agent or editor to your query letter? Is there some sort of secret code here I'm not understanding? They all see that I have very few credentials and no degree and they don't even give me a shot. How do i prove to them I CAN write and write well?

The inside front cover says that its publication dates were 1945, 46 and 51. There is no mention of any other printing date. It is not a Book Club edition and it does not have Salinger's photo on the back cover. The cover is the traditional red, gold and white sketch of Central Park and the carousel horse (by Michael Mitchell).

I also notice that I do not see any ISBN number anywhere on the book. It has 277 pages.

Thanks for your help!
