Can you please tell me your top 3 books of all time? Must reads?

I loved Animal Farm and 1984, I am reading some philosophy which is great, but I want to get a list of 'must-reads' to get stuck into and be uplifted and inspired!!!

I've decided I need to read more classics, and everyone seems to rave about Kerouac, so I started with On The Road. Well, I had to force myself to finish it, and can't see what the hype is about. If you've read one chapter, you've read it all. Maybe I seem uneducated because I didn't get anything out of it, but I read voraciously and can name so many more books I thought were better written and more entertaining. I just wanted to know what you think about the book, out of curiosity.

I've been hearing a lot of talk about how George Orwell was only off by 20 years or so about his predictons in the novel 1984. Part of this is due to Bush's wiretapping being compared with the all seeing eyes of Big Brother and the Thought Police.

I love the novel 1984 and I was thinking this morning about chatroom jargon and such when I thought "It's simplified, but so simplified meaning can be lost." and of course that lead me to Orwell.

Do you think chatspeak is comparable to Newspeak? In what ways? I'd love to hear your opinions. I'd also like to hear what you think about "Orwell being off by 20 years." Thank you.

Friendly, a chat room you look forward to coming back to. I found one the other night but neglected to bookmark it. I don't enjoy a sight that is full of smut, sex or just inappropriate language, I am not a prude but enough is en ought. I like to hear about authors that are good and dissuasions of the books.

Angels & Demons , Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress and Deception point.
arrange these books in order u like the most. put your favourite book among them on top and which u like the least at the bottom and if u give some comments it would be better.

I know the first 19 or so books were written by Gertrude Chandler Warner. The other approximately 5 dozen simply say "started by Gertrude Chandler Warner" and don't say who actually wrote the book anywhere.
