Superstition, in the long run, isn't really helpful.
But, does that mean that atheists should be trying to guide and teach the god-believers? It seems kinda cruel to just forget about them and not at least try to teach them.

I found that some of my husband's condoms are missing. I know how many he had last time we went away for a weekend. He keeps taking a supply with him whenever the two of us go away for a night or so. I have asked him why in the past......he gets defensive and says it's for my benefit (so that I don't fall pregnant etc) but we hardly ever use a condom normally. Am I being paranoid? Or am I a fool?

Hi,I was pregnant and after 1 month of getting pregnant I developed extreme nausea, morning sickness & first trimester problems.I also had bleeding once ,went to ER & started worrying about my baby. Then I started having obcessive & negative thoughts about the baby. Then suddenly one day ,I developed obcession with saliva. It went to the extent that it started giving me trmendous anxiety & panick attacks & I believed that I was definitely getting crazy because of my irrationale anxiety. My doctor put me on Zoloft. But on the 1st day of taking Zoloft,I had suicidal thoughts,so I went to see my OBG.I passed out there & I was sent to ER.I chose to stay at the ward & came home next day. After that I went to stay with my family & was ok until my baby was born. After my baby was born,I was ok until my in laws were here,as soon as they left I developed anxiety. This time for no reason at all.
I went back on Zoloft & have been on Zoloft stll.I feel perfectly normal & happy now. What is my diagnosis?

A friend of mine, a male model, needs a place to sleep over.
He is very very famous recently, and he is rich. He said he wanted to sleep over at any accomodating house because he wants to learn our culture. He said he is very interested at our nation and our great government.

He said he will only stay for a short time, and he will be back to his country after visiting the White House. Yes, he is very fond of our national symbol and is keen to pay a visit to the legendary White House. He also asked if you can give him information about when will Bush be there. He would so much like to see him, he said it has been a dream for him to shake the hand of the #1 person in the world.
He even prepared a souvenir for Bush, but he keep it very confidential because he didn't want to spoil the surprise. Ahh, he must be a big fan of our president.
To make it easier for you to pick him up, here's a picture of him:

I am almost 28 weeks pregnant. A few days ago I was having contractions and my doctor told me it was because I had a mild vaginal infection (bacterial) which I got medicine for and I was dehydrated from drinking too much Sprite. She said to only drink water and I could have flavored water. I know most of the flavored water now is sweetened with artificial sweeteners and I can't have Nutrasweet (or anything with aspertame. But can I have Splenda? Sorry so long.

I hate writing them, and they always seem harder than the actual book. (If I could tell the story in 1-2 pages, I would). Do you have a particular site or book that really helped you out, or something you learned from experience?
Anything would be helpful. Thank you.

I have looked everywhere for an analysis on this poem, but I still did not understand. I want to know what the central message of this poem is. Is the writer of this poem trying to tell the reader of how beautiful Helen was? Was Poe referring to "Helen" as the actual "Helen of Troy" or "Helen" as another woman? I don't understand!

Though I doubt you'd spend 15 minutes listening to a science geek explaining how genetic markers indicating an absorbed retrovirus are passed down from species to species to species through the evolutionary process.

Basically, finding endogenous retroviral sequences in identical chromosomal positions of two different species indicates common ancestry. And we DO find retrogenes in the "same chromosomal place" when we look at great apes (chimps, gorillas, orangutans, gibbons) and humans. That means apes and humans have a common ancestor.

What about this evidence do you not find persuasive?

My child has 2 severe food allergies. I am really concerned about how this is going to affect her as she gets older. Example: Birthday party. We didn't go because there were peanuts on the tables as a decoration and they were being eaten by adults and children at the party. The issue for her is the peanut dust that is in the air when they are being eaten (which is why many airlines no longer serve peanuts on flights). So, we skipped the party. My guess based on the severity of her allergy is that I would have been shocked if she would have made it through the night without a reaction.
Why am I paniced? Because I am noticing that people continue on with their plans, even if it excludes us. In all instances, it would be very easy to make small changes to accomidate her, but it doesn't happen and so we skip out on the event. It has gotten to the point where it is hurtful & feels like she/we are not accepted.
What do you think? Please be honest!!
Thank you!

When I was little, at school during recess, I think in the spring.. The kids used to pick these little pea/bean pod-type plants off of these bushes. Except, instead of having two halves to the pod, like peas or string beans, they had 3 or 4. When you held them near the stem and squeezed them, the beans popped out, usually at a high rate of speed and fast enough to feel if you got hit by the beans. We used to aim them at eachother and shoot eachother with them. They were about an inch long and I think light green. We used to call them "popping beans". I have never seen anything like them since I left that school. Does anyone know of any plant like that or what it might be called?
