Does the orbit of the Earth remain at a constant distance from the Sun, or is it changing. I was just reading another answer to a question that said that the Earth is gaining mass from collecting space debris.

Well if that is true, and we look at the equation for gravitation then it seems as though the radius of the orbit would be changing. Probably a very small amount though.

Evangelicals often quote the bible as supreme authority. I have seen it used for all sorts of reasons to prove or disprove things.

Why to they have absolute faith in the Bible above all other things.

I was looking at how we got the current new testement and it appears that Martin Luther chopped up a lot of of and take books out that didnt fit his ideology. He also wanted to get rid of James but other convinced him not to.

So if the current evagelical bible is incomplete how can you view that everything in it is full truth.

Statements about "dont add anything to this book" revelation and " useful for teaching etc" timothy were written before much of the rest of the new testement.

I would argue that the bible never says its the sole authority and instead says that the Church is the pillar of Truth.

I am not saying that the bible is wrong, I believe it is the word of God but need so be read in the light of church history.

1-400 years isint much history is it??

Since we moved into our new house (in 2003 end), we have found at least 7-10 snakes (4-10 inches in length). Some of them were brown and some whitish cream in color. I dont know whether these are poisionous. Beacuse of this, we are afraid to let our 6 year old son play or go do anything in the yard. There is a property behind our house which has 3-4 horses. They have stale water there. Can anyone suggest a way to get rid / prevent the snakes from coming to our yard. In India there is a Vine (Sarpa Ghandi) which has the smell of garlic which deters snake. I dont know the botanical name of this plant or whether it will do any good.

I have a 1 1/2 year old Pug and 2 cats. Well, my Pug likes to pee on my furniture and I let him do it for too long and I am having a rough time breaking him of it, so about a month ago I went & bought an indoor kennel, it's just big enough for him to be able to turn around & lay down and stuff (I was told not to get a kennel that's 2 big or they will use the bathroom in it) So now every time I leave I put him in it w/ a pillow and a toy or rawhide & I leave the TV He gives me the saddest look right before I leave every time, lol, and it makes me feel so bad. Well, I work from 8-4 and sometimes I'm able to go home @ lunch to let him out for a little bit, but sometimes he's in the cage the whole time. Can this actually be bad for him? Not only do I feel bad doing this, but I didn't know if this is actually unhealthy in any way? I just don't have a choice because he will pee on things when I'm not home. But trust me, I give him TONS of attention when I get home...Am I concerned for no rea

you're in a bar with 3 girl friends and a guy walks in you like the look of and start giving him the eye.

He returns the eye contact to you.

Are you looking at him just to be friendly or would you be trying to tell him you like him and that you want him to approach you?

second part of the question.....if this guy does approach you and you are sitting chatting to your friends, will you be inclined to pay immediate attention to the guy to show your interest?

lastly.....do simple lines like can i buy you a drink work as openers these days? - this would be my approach anyway

If Michigan's defense was able to help Michigan stop teams from beating them so bad, do you think Mike Hart would have a better chance as a Heisman hopeful? I think he would. It has to suck to be stellar and a pre-season Heisman favorite and then lose all hope when your team doesn't perform.

Hold the posts saying Michigan, Henne and Hart suck. Right now, Hart is 6th in the nation for rushing yards. In general, is there any way Hart can regain Heisman attention? Not that I'm rooting for him, I'm just curious what you all think.

My diabetic dad was recently diagnosed with an, and let me quote the DR, a HUGE enlarged heart, diverticulitis, and kidney stones. He's almost 62 and refuses to do anything about the enlarged heart. He passed the stone and I assume his diverticulitis problem has improved but I don't know about the heart because he's insisting the DR. said that he was fine now and released him and all of this was caused by dehydration...
I do know that he had been working outside in a drought and didn't drink much at the time of his diverticulitis attack. He also started to get the pain from the kidney stone at the same time. Which according to the DR was in the process of being passed. Thats when the DR discovered his hugely enlarged heart. He went back to the redimed dr not his regular dr who has been begging him for a chest xray forever but my dad refused. He told us that the redimed DR said he was fine now and it was all due to dehydration. Is this really possible or is he lying through his teeth?

There are companies which hold details of your credit history and simply by contacting them you can check your financial status. How about companies whch hold details about your relationship history? If you are an habitual cheat you could even get the relationship equivalent of bankruptcy?
From now on all you have to do is contact these companies and you could find out if a potential partner really is telling the truth when they say they've never had a one night stand. It would make our love lives much easier and you could weed out the cheats right from the very beginning and simply decline their application! Good idea or invasion of privacy?

I was curious as to whether any active members of Jehovah's Witnesses have ever researched their own religion or religious questions from any other source than your own publications. I understand you would not read "apostate" information, but how about reliable, unbiased information? If not, why? If so, did you honestly ponder the information?
