There 24 countries with socialized medicine that have higher life expectancies than the US-we can try to put a hannity -Limbaugh spin on this -but it would seem very difficult to do.I personally am not for free health care -BUT AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ...........

I just read a headline that said ................

More people in their 60s and 70s report being happy than do those in their 40s, according to a recent survey conducted of 21,000 people in 21 countries, spanning four age groups from 40 to 80.

What do you think? I'm in my 50's (and happy!) and hope my 60's and 70's will be be happy.

I am needing help with a question. I had to choose a company in the transportation industry. I chose Delta Airlines. I had to select an objective and chose: Increase earnings by 5% through efficient use of the invested capital.

Now, I have to list five activities required to achieve this objective. Also, three Management Information System (MIS) resources that will be required to complete the identified activities.

What I mean is that when people get divorced, it is usually the children who suffer the most. Then these children take the scars into adulthood, and perpetuate the situation. Why can't we do something about this as a society?

my son is such a great kid. in school he has the hardest time because all of the kids pick on him. all i want is for him to find a friend. he ends up getting in trouble alot because he is tired of being bullied and ends up hitting the other kids, which gets him in trouble, but the "bullies" get away with it. any suggestions on how to help him through these tough years? he is going into 5th grade and he also has complex patical seizures which doesn't help his situation.

Several years ago, I became friends at work with another woman who’s almost six years older than I am. Although we never actually worked together, she worked in a nearby room. At first she seemed attentive and a good listener until her teenage son developed a major health condition requiring several major surgeries, including an organ transplant. I though she was over the hurdle when her husband, who weighed nearly 400 pounds, lost his job due to side effects of depression, then required heart surgery. After this ordeal, she had several operations for hernia repair and stomach surgery. She still is facing knee surgery also. Although she no longer works in my department, we still see each other occasionally, like before major holidays and on birthdays. She’s lost nearly 200 pounds since she changed jobs and now she seems distracted and inattentive. This week we met for lunch and she never got off her cell phone the whole time we were together. She’d end one call and dial another number right away. I really think that was rude, even considering her recent ordeals. I felt like grabbing the damn phone and hurling it across the restaurant. She invited me out, so at least she could act like she was just a LITTLE interested in what I had to say.

Then, after my mother passed away, she said I had a standing invitation to her house for all major holidays. However, since then its always been some reason or excuse that I can’t come to her house – like she’s going to be busy or away from home at those times.

Another thing that bugs me is that when we go out, she’ll order the most expensive thing on the menu, then hardly eat any of it. I hate to see food wasted. When I asked her why she does that. She responded, “Because it impresses people when they see I don’t need to eat that food.” Now I don’t know whom she’s trying to. I think I’d try to impress someone other than the wait staff.

I wanted to know just what might be going on in her mind impress with is hubristic attitude she’s developed or if there’s a psychological condition causing her to act like this. How should I deal with her?

Omg!!! my 2 hunting dogs just took my 500 dollar rabbit fur scarf outside and destroyed it....I am so mad it is still in good condition but It is covered in dirt and spit and mud.......Can you wash a rabbit fur scarf ?

when they say Yankees ONLY buy players and can't build their own talent?

Over half of their active roster is made up of players that have NEVER played for another MLB team including six of the nine in their everyday line-up. (this is a fact)

The stories of a weak farm system are in the past. Every season for the past three years Yanks have brought up players that have shown signs of greatness.

Bash us with some intelligent facts. Making things up to try and prove your point just shows that you don't really follow baseball as closely as you would like us to believe.

Bank of america is very stealthy in charging overdraft fees. For instance, my account had a certain amount of money, I went and used my debit account for several different transactions. I log in this morning and found 6 negative transactions. Why? Because Bank of America cashed a check I wrote several days prior, that day but never bother to display this as being cashed in my online account, overdrawing it. So I now I owe $35 several times over for small charges as low as $.95! This is very deceptive. How can I avoid paying these ridiculous fees? I am not rich and cannot afford to have thousands sitting in my account. Any banks with lower fees and less deceptive practices than bank of america?
