Can we see that a graduated income tax with high marginal rates enlarges the client base and reduces the funding base for a welfare state? Can we see that for a welfare state to work, you have to have a small minority client base and a large class of people who are financially well off enough to be able to fund it?

Politically many of the payors might resent it, and if there aren't enough people dependent on the system to form a majority, you aren't guaranteed that the system will continue to be voted into place - - - but have we forgotten the lessons of the 1970s, when the system worked politically but not financially and it all came crumbling down?

High marginal rates were the govt kicking you 7 steps back for every 10 steps you could - you couldn't get ahead. Do we deny that the increase in the proportion of our population that is affluent is due to lowering the marginal tax rates, enabling more people to get ahead?

My hair has been gradually thining for the past 5 years now and is getting really bad. After a skin biopsy test last year my doctor finall confirmed to me today that there is nothing majorly wrong and that its a really common condition (hair loss).

So now instead of refering me to another specialists he has giving me a scalp lotion to try.

...Sounds good but when i read what it was for, it seems as though its not for people suffering hair loss but far worse skin scalp conditions like, eczema, dermatitis (itching), psoriasis of the scalp...all of which i don't have!

its also used for seborrhoea capitis (a condition causing redness and inflamation of the scalp and crusty patches of the scalp.

It all seems rather scary to me as all the above symptons are not related to me! also the side effects are bad too!!!

Please help!!! should I listen to my doctor and use it???

If so, and they fail should they be cut off assitance?

Working people get screened for drug usage in public jobs, the jobs that support welfare. I could not keep my job if I were drunk or taking drugs.

Also do you feel that the number of dependents (children) in a given household that the Govenment supports should be limited? Would'nt this discourage people from having children for more Gov't assistance.

were witnesses of jesus christ life.. according to this there are only 4 gospels only one it's a witness that's John.. but matthew, luke and mark were selected only because they are similar? what's happened with other writtens of the others apostles..I know there are letters of peter and jude, ect.. but they dont speak nothing about the life of christ... they speak about theology some of them were written by anonymous authors... the gospel of Saint James where is it? why the catholic church selected only those gospels?

i mean and intend no disrepect. i may not agree with you, but you have the right to believe in what you like. i respect you for at least believing in something.

with that said, how do real christians feel about those that use the christian religion as a front, and to go into other sections of Yahoo and attack people that have done nothing wrong to them? these i speak of throw insults, curse, pass judgement, bascially make the rest of you look foolish. Jesus never did that, right? why do some of you feel that it's ok to do that?

i was under the impression that Jesus spoke of love and unity. that we are all one, and should treat each other as so. he never had an unkind thing to say, but encouraged people to see past their differences and find the common bond, God. or, did i just get it all wrong?

again, I hope i have not offended anyone. i was simply curious about what is generally acceptable for christian behavior.

are there any cruises leaving out of new york going to places of warm weather..such as bermuda , bahamas , caribbean etc.... I want to send my parents away for a cruise but they won't trus us to stay home alone long because i'm still 16 so it's got to be less than a week i guess. most cruises i see coming out of new york ports are to new england and canada and i know they would hate that. any thing you know of?!
