"And every one who shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven." -Luke 12:10
"Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin." -Mark 3:28-29
Also: Matthew 12:31-32
I'm an atheist and have clearly blasphemed against the holy spirit. According to Christian scripture, I can never be forgiven and am eternally damned. So why do Christians still make an effort to recruit me and 'save' me? Aren't I a forever lost cause, according to your Bible?
People have offered the interpretation that so long as you don't die still blaspheming the holy spirit, you can be saved. But does it say that anywhere in the Bible? It seems straightforward to me: blaspheme the holy spirit, be forever damned.
