Did any earlier religion have the concept of a day of rest?

The Ten Commandments were not original, except for the item about Sabbath-keeping. That one item seems to be absent from the Egyptian Books of the Dead and the Babylonian codes of law such as Hammurabi's. Did it perhaps originate with the Hebrews?

The mechanic just repaired some electrical problem with the car. He said their was some ground or something. So they fixed it.

But still the Panel Lights of A/C & Heater turns off when I hit the break. What's the problem? Help.

Could this still be electrical problem?

ok..i had a question before regarding birth control that i took for two weeks and decided to stop taking it...obviously immidiatly i got my period even tho i had just had it..this was at the beginning of the month. When my "normal" period was suppose to come at the end of the month it didnt..and now i dont know when to expect it or if i am pregnant or what! Is this a normal thing?

I am looking at keeping a fish, and have picked out what fish I want, but I can't tell what size tank I need. I am considering a biorb, but I don't know if it is appropriate. I want a slightly smaller tank, around maybe 15-20 gal. Plant recommendations and general advice on my choices also appreciated. Thanks

After Jesus's resurrection?
Could it be that GOD knew that the Apostles (Men) would take a great deal of pain, torture and challenges in spreading the GOSPEL to the world, and did not want the Mary's to experience that?

Could it be that GOD always intended for Men to be the protector of women and his protection was to take the 2 Marys; with him to heaven shortly after he descended?

DId Jesus try to show MEN at that time how to treat and love women in GOD"S path because Adam failed at it? Some food for thought?

there are so many controversies in religion all over the world, no one religion seems to be pure and undefiled, the simple fact proves it, that there is so many divisions throughout the entire world.
So, who believes they have the truth but can only support it because of what they are taught, through the traditions they have given?
What if Galatians 5 is interpreted incorrectly, that the gospel of false witnesses prevail unto this day when in the first or third century it was the dark horse? What about the jews, what if the same thing happened to them? The dark horse took power and corrupted the faith through traditions? What about Moslims? if the other religions can be found corrupted and proven, when did their teachings become interpreted wrong. Or is everything Perfectly preserved?

Has anyone stopped to consider the definition of "Idol"? The show isn't called "America's Best Singer". You don't have to be a talented singer to be considered an idol. Isn't this show really about who will be the next popular personality that just incidentally happens to sing somewhat? Remember, singing isn't the only way to provide entertainment, and entertainment is what truly sells.

I don't really understand this. Get ready for a long winded story.

My mother and I used to be very close back when I was a teenager, but her and my sister used to fight all the time, day and night. It wasn't until my sister left the house for good to find another place to live that things started going downhill with my mother and I. It started with a bad boyfriend I chose, then quickly escalated to us fighting everyday about the smallest things.

In short, I moved out with my present boyfriend (who is much better than my previous). The fighting died down, but we still ocassionally quarrel over financial and personal situations. She hangs up on me, and doesn't talk to me for days, and instead confides in my sister (they are more close than ever now). At times my mother brings me out shopping and buys me many things that, while I do need, I feel will be used against me as guilt in a later fight.

How do I deal with this? Is she jealous I left (its almost been a year since), or is it me?

Well, right off the bat, me and my SIL did not get along. She is always trying to compete with me for my husband's attention (weird!). She gets in between our marriage and stirs up problems. Me and husband recently estimated that in the past year, 85% of our fights can be traced back to something she did or said to cause drama. We had a falling out about a year ago (me and SIL), but since then have made up and tried to be friends.
But recently, she has started making rude and cutting remarks to me when her brother (my husband) isn't around. I have tried to ignore it, and deal with it, but it's driving me crazy! I have never understood why she HATES me so much. (she has assaulted me in the past, but I declined to press charges)
I really want to tell her off, and let her know that she MUST show me respect... but I don't want to cause a rift in the family again. My husband is on my side, and has suggested cutting evil SIL out of our lives, but I feel GUILTY.
What should I do?

I had the coolest dream last night...yet i cant help but feel it means something also:
Ok, so i'm at my grandmas house and this girl (who is a family friend of my stepdad's) is there also. We are sitting there talking (though i dont know what about). Suddenly, the newspaper is hit at the door. I go out on the front step and get it. I open it up and a tiny brass beetle (it's not alive and is about the size of my thumbnail) falls to the floor. I pick it up and set it on the mantle. Then i open up the paper and the first thing i notice is an ad for a concert to be held at the mall. the ad reads: "HIM and My Chemical Romance today at Fox Valley Mall!" then under that it says in fine print: "Bring your Harley (Davidson motorcycle of course) and you and your friend get in free!" The girl that was with my grandma and i has a harley and shows me that she has remodeled it: decked out in gold beetles! So she takes me to the concert and the stage is also decked out in gold beetles.
Meaning???
