In 2000:
"the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor."

my wife decided the other day to give our 15 year old daughter "the talk"... you know the talk i mean, the one with the bees and birds etc.

why would she be telling my daughter all these disgusting words? i hope she isnt using them on the playground, but its hard to explain how inappropriate they are when it was her own mother that taught them to her!

I hardly ever see religious people calling others names. All I see are people who have no religion when they are stumped - " go take meds" "read about science". swear words and ect. blah blah blah.

Real mature

I am aware that the Amtrak trains have a tendency to run late but on the remote possibility that my train should leave me with time to kill I am looking for things around Union station that I can see or do in a short period of time. It will be during the week and in the daytime when I should be there. Why don't they have a rail travel category?

Okay so I met this really really COOL guy who I plan on spending a lot of time with but my daughter’s father is very jealous! Even though we have broken up for almost a year..he has a very bad temper! He thinks that I will have our child around this young man all the time and maybe take his place (I guess that’s what he thinks). Should I tell him "nicely" that I'm seriously dating another man and will come to a point when he meets my daughter? Or should I just let him find out on his own?

He still holds on to the hope that we will be together on day (little does he know)! So seeing me with someone else will make him furious! What should I do?

My sons' old computer has a rather interesting ability. It is an early Pentium, made by Dell. It is able to play sounds from the PC speaker through the soundcard (as well as have the PC speaker beeping as well).

Now, I'm an avid old-school gamer, and would love to be able to hear music from original The Bard's Tale series, or the 'full-auto' sound from Wasteland play through my headphones instead of being nearly inaudible. However, using it for my 80's gaming obsession is a bit out of the question, as I've run out of room in the house (and it now resides in the shed).

Removing the soundcard is also not an option, as it is physically part of the motherboard.

Is there some software that is capable of emulating this effect?

I keep being told he loves everyone and etc....., yet people and that little book allegedly being his word, tell me that if I don't worship him he'll send me to a fiery place where I'll go through pain, suffering, and torture for all eternity?

How is this loving? Why should I want to worship such a mean, cruel, and downright monsterous alleged god?

I am a 34 year old woman interested in learning to play guitar. I like both rock and soft music. Which is recommended to learn first, electric or acoustic? How much do lessons typically cost? Thank you for any advice you can give me!

I just wonder if they just want the milk free without buying the cow and will say anything to make this so. And I wonder if they just want someone around just until someone better comes along.
Really, it just blows me away that women are okay with this arrangement.
