I''m a recovering alcoholic and and have no social life anymore. I can't seem to make any friends at all in AA, and I don't think I will ever get over my ex-girlfriend unless I start dating someone else.

I've tried MATCH.COM and another site, but I always get the same answer, sometimes immediately. Either women:

1. Just don't want to date anyone that's a recovering addict/alcoholic.

2. Don't want to date anyone that doesn't drink.

I was just hoping someone could tell me why?

I'm 45, single, live alone and a pretty nice guy. Women in recovery generally don't date men in recovery. I don't think i'll ever find a wife.

It's been a few years now, and I find myself so lonely that I think of suicide alot.

My question is, since I can't seem to meet anyone by telling the truth, should I just lie about my alcoholism?

Well we have a pretty good relationship, since she found out that her treatment failed she has compltly isolated herself from the world, she doesnt want to talk to anyone or see anyone, she just sits in her room and does nothing. As her girlfriend what should i do, give her space or be by her side. She keeps saying she doesnt want to speak to anyone or see anyone. I cant talk to her because she does not know how to communicate her feelings, She has depression and has had it for years. She has become mean to me and can get cruel at times.She went into hospital on Sunday and came out yesterday,tomorrow is our aniversary and my birthday party and shes not interested. What do I do?

Has anyone noticed that Saturday Morning programming for children is practically non-existent? I can remember watching animated shows such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Garfield, Doug, Recess, and even classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny. Today, ABC is playing Disney shows and CBS is playing Nickelodeon shows. NBC doesn't have much of anything. Isn't Saturday morning supposed to be for watching cartoons?

ok well my girlfriends mom said i was but she like hates me but ok today me and her were supposed to hang out and her uncle and cousin want her to go fishing with them she hardly ever gets to do it but i got mad about it not really mad but like sad because i was looking forward to seeing her today soo what do you guys think possessive or not

A good sense of humor when you first start dating someone. I used to have a good one until I went to Iraq (or so people say). During my tour, I began to look at some pretty awful things humorously, and a lot of girls don't like it. It's how I coped with the realities of war, and I don't try to do it now that I'm home, but sometimes it just comes out in conversation. I'm not a cold person, and It's not like I make fun of death in general. Is this a deal breaker, or are girls willing to overlook something like that?
